Who the...?
I check my e-mail, and find two e-mails from support@ndgstudios with a neat little in-game code...okay you got my attention :P
Still recapping my username I get on here and notice the game is so different... my last activity next to this was a long time ago... Last activity: 2010-10-20 16:24:09 Now allow me to introduce myself, some of you may or may not remember me, and most of you haven't the foggiest on who I am, but that doesn't matter lol. I had a conjurer by the name of Zero and I had him on the Horus server, and I always had him wearing the color purple. I think that sums it up XD Now I haven't got a clue what's going on, so I'm going to need a little help here...so in a nutshell... What has happened in this game during the two years I was gone? Don't leave any details out though because I'm considering going with the devil I know and coming back to this. So what do I need to know? What's changed? What's failed to change? Is there anyone on here I might still know?

I'm sure you don't remember me, but I'm also sure there are still quite a few around who will remember you. You should pop on to say hi and take a look at the changes at the very least, but in my humble opinion any returning players will be very disappointed with the direction the game has gone in. It'd be impossible to recap the last 2 years of RO without leaving any details out, but the most important thing is a level cap increase to 60, and the WarMasters expansion. WarMasters basically means that there are high level quests you can repeat, and eventually spend the currency you get as a reward on some special level 60 armor. When you get all of this special armor, you become a WarMaster and unlock an new tree of powers. These powers include an area speed buff that is as extreme as the highest non-warmaster speed buff, and 3 times the duration... A beacon that bestows 70% chance to resist any and all crowd control on whatever ally clicks the beacon... a similar beacon that gives +2000 extra health... a passive that gives a huge boost to your primary stat... and two spells to create teleports to various locations for yourself and allies. Sounds great, right? There are so many warmasters now that we have all of these buffs in almost every fort fight, multiple times. I suppose you can decide for yourself whether that's good or bad. Other noteworthy changes... Armor system has been 'fixed' from how it was, it now reduces a fixed amount of damage per armor point (modified by buffs/passives/resistances/etc). Meaning that proportionally speaking, armor is far more effective against low damage, and nearly useless against high damage. Boss gear is no longer extremely rare, you'll encounter boss geared players dealing twice your damage rather often =D You no longer have to break down a gate to enter the enemy realm during an invasion, you can just click a magical boat and be teleported inside. Archers have 5m extra on all their bow ranges now (more after % range increase powers). Barbs deal roughly double the DPS they used to, and can now dual wield 1 handed weapons to get medium or fast attack speed, for roughly the same damage. (Two weapons means twice as many special/magical/epic bonuses, and an additional gem slot). We now have 24/7 Game Master support on the server (Haven, which is longer Horus after Horus and Raven servers merged). We have completely new and redesigned forts, castles, and many of the mobs. We now have a new playable race of tiny fuzzy bunny things that don't actually fit into the world of Regnum at all, but they gave us some shit story about them coming from a special magical place we have never heard of, in order to make them fit. Lots of skills have been altered, removed, or added. Too many to list. And... probably a lot more. It's been a long two years Nice to see you again. |

Well I got to say that sounds interesting enough but here's part two to this madness! These e-mails from support@ngdstudios state the following:
Congratulations! You have received this key to redeem it in-game! *key code* Login and redeem this key to get: Albino Bear Mount for 1 month 1 Level 60 scroll 1 Motion Capture Dance 1 WarMaster Coin x2 Booster And I have two of these...so essentially I could just dive head first into all of this, but now here's the next question...what the heck should I go with? On my account all my characters are still there, so if that means I can log on with these characters and I still retain everything I have, using this on my conjurer would be useless as I could probably just grind the remaining 10 levels...now I need to somehow know what classes I should use this on...so does anyone have any suggestions on what class I should bump up based on how you enjoy playing these classes?

Well, grinding those 10 levels is not easy, If you are on lvl 50, you should have around 3 mil. xp. Now, to get to lvl 60, you have to reach 10,940,960 xp. This means about three times the amount you have. Trust me, it takes a long time.
What class should you get to 60? If you want to play effectively now, you should get a marks, or if you like meele than barb. Those are probably the most op classes atm (might get nerfed though). If you know you are gonna grind more classes in future, I'd scroll your knight - the most difficult class to lvl up, it's decent in fort wars and effective at bosses. Sucks at solo hunting though. Anyway, maybe it would be worth it trying each class you have in wz for few days (especialy if they're the same level), so you get to know how things are. Good luck PS. If you can't use two codes on your account, what will you do with the second one? ^^

I think any warrior or archer class can be a lot of fun to play. The introduction of warmasters along with changes to dps, armor, range, and cast speed have really made gameplay for mages a nightmare in my opinion. Conjurers have the special advantage of being the only healing class, so they will always be needed and useful, even if I personally don't enjoy playing one. Warlocks... well they're not so lucky. Personally I'd say play a knight or a hunter. Barbarians don't require much skill (sorry barbs, it's true ) and marksmen are just as much about having uber gear as they are about being a good player. Knights have a lot more supportive abilities now, and setup variety. I see them as the most interesting class, by far. Many people will tell you hunters are really underpowered, but to me that is just a strong indication they have no idea how to play a hunter. Invisibility and tracking is awesome, even if you aren't the most useful in large scale fort wars. Also perhaps worth noting, I saw on facebook another player got that email you're talking about, and found that her code didn't work. Just a heads up. |

Either way I got about 10 minutes to wait before this is downloaded XD PS: Good question, if that was the case, I'd just hand it off to someone...

Okay so before logging onto the game I get a third e-mail that actually says my account name, so that immediately tells me these codes are account specific. I already made a claim on my code with my Knight (who goes exactly by this name, so you know) but the catch is that I need to have a character who is already at level 60 to use the level 60 scroll that I got
So I guess in rue of all this I'm going to have to get my Conjurer up to level 60 being the closest to it lol. Time to wake Zero up...
