Action MMORPG

A new game is being developed by Cryptic Studios called Champions Online. Use google to find the link if you are interested because NGD doesn't allow posting of links to other games.

Champions Online delivers furious, fast-paced encounters previously reserved for action and fighting games. No more boring auto attacks and lengthy recharge times. Champions Online combat is instantaneous — and electrifying!

The interesting aspect of this game is the combat system. You do not press the number keys in order to wait for "auto" attacks.

I think that Regnum Online would be much more interesting and fun if it developed an action based combat system.

Grinding would not be as boring as it is now (which is 90% of the game when you are in the 30s).

With this combat system, you will also be able to make use of a gamepad which again, is much more fun then pressing number keys.

What does everyone here think? Do you like the old style of MMORPG combat systems? What do you like about them and what do you dislike?

If you are suggesting he is suggesting something, post a new thread in said sub-forum. :P

I think the regnum skill system is solid. It's been used before in very successful games. But that's the problem, its been used before. A new skill system is always good, if done right, which is very difficult to do. Sometimes it's better to stick to the "if it aint broke dun fix it." A useful skill may be "free 10 000 exp" then the game would become 99% warzone and 1% skill use

And changed the entire combat system this far into development (1.0.1) would be insane, you may as well start a whole new game, But NGD is not nearly large enough to run 2 MMO's

I believe they already are running 2 MMOs. From what I heard, they have 20 people, 7 of which are working on Regnum and the others on some soccer game.
