Friendly Shielding vs Material Wall
Ok, so I was deciding to get a buff on my setup and I decided on a defensive one. So, a Conjurer got 4, all in Sorcery; Shifting Silhouette, Friendly Shielding, Magic Barrier and Material Wall.
So I ruled out Shifting Silhouette without a second of a though as the Miss chance is based purely on luck. Then I ruled out Magic Barrier as more than have have Physical damage. So two remain. I'll list the Pros and Cons of what I think of both buffs. Friendly Shielding 30% Protection on level 5. Duration: 60s Cooldown: 25s Mana: 110 Pros: Protection gives resistance to all kinds of damage. Low Mana Cost Low cooldown that can keep two ally buffed at all times Cons: Dependent on ally's Armour Points -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Material Wall 30% Resistance to Physical Damage on level 5. Duration: 120s Cooldown: 120s Mana: 350 Pros: Best buff for Conjurer for Physical Damage resistance. Cons: Cooldown is equal to duration, thus can only buff one target -------------------------------------------------------------------------- What are your thoughts on those two spells?

Friendly shielding helps against damage from archers as it increases ap (which cuts off a fixed amount of incoming damage), matwall is great against damage from barbs because it decreases incoming damages %ual (the higher the damage, the more is cuts off).
I would always go for Matwall over Friendly shielding. |

I like neither. Their overhead is just not worth it for the small benefits in my opinion.
Friendly Shielding is too weak on most of classes, is short, but at least works on all type of damage. Material Wall works only vs Physical dmg, so warlocks and epic/jewelry gear enemies/marks won't be affected so much. It also has an obvious animation which is a MS target sign. Dur=Cd so only one buffed at a time. High mana cost...

I use matwall because i really dont have the mana/time to spam friendly shielding on
my allies, Ive had it in my setup and its a really good spell. It really depends on your own playstyle

Don't use any of those personally. You'd save far more people if you had a couple more mental skills, or another self-heal/buff, or by crippling an opponent with mana burn... Yeah. These both kinda suck unless you're helping grinders. Knights do this stuff better.

yeah all those auras are OP, deflect barrier should be 20% not 40.
OT: it would be better to get lvl 1 mentals and mana burn, FS and MW wont do you much good in the WZ.

There are 70 spells I can get, I know but I'm choosing between those.
So far seems Material Wall. Isn't it better to have two targets buffed? Or it's unnoticeable?

you should try it out, if you can get urself to spam friendly shielding on as many people as possible
stay alive and keep others alive (and dont forget to keep ur mana up) than why not it probably gets u some kills if you hit it on archers as I said, it really depends on what you do while conjuring.. me im a suicidal idiot who is desperate for WM kills (and starting to love mind push 4) but that leaves me with little time to buff up everyone around me (and yes mentals help a lot, but i think ivy and mind push cover most of it)

I actually use both, at level 4. In war yes they aren't much with all the auras that are used, but in small field battles they can make a world of difference.
Friendly shielding: Don't look at it by itself; every class excluding warlocks has their own self armor buff. If you pay attention and intentionally stack this on archers with evasive tactics or warriors with caution active, it's much more effective. Mat Wall: Although what Scias said about it being an MS magnet is true, this can be a double-edged effect: If you add other buffs like shielding + DI, and healing, the enemies will be focusing on the person whom you've made the most difficult to kill. Or, you can cast it on a fellow conjurer who is being focused on. I don't use mana pylon on my conj; wide-area protection is better suited for knights. Conjus however are far better at saving individuals (aside from area heals).
