I agree, this would be a great boon to keeping in touch with friends and knowing when they log on and off.

Perhaps also an /ignore list too ... there have been an awful lot of people using foul language lately which is both unncessesary and unpleasant. Some of it has also been derogatively used especially by English speakers against Spanish speakers.

funny thing is, that there also alot of spanish ppl who look DOWN upon the english speakers. also talking in global chat in english (no insulting towards anyone) seems to be offending them.:dumbofme:
also some spanish people are always saying the game IS in spanish because its made FOR spanish people. not for the english. which i think is kinda offensive for the english community lol. if it wasnt for the english peeps, why is there english version of the game then? :naughty:
Though there have been alot of spanish people who has been helpful towards us. which im grateful for:) . too bad there is always some sort of war between people. :(

Yeah, I can't really understand any Spanish because the only Spanish I know comes from studying French. Thus, if there are insults thrown from Spanish to English I doubt I would pick them out. Now if they were speaking Ukrainan ... :)
However, outright cursing and offensive language should have the option of being ignored.

Friends list would definately help keep in touch with some of the english-speaking community. Personally, I would like to see an English-speaking server dedicated to N.A. and Europe. It's rare to get help or even find people to party with when the majority of players are Spanish-speakers. Not that I have anything against them, but a language barrier is a big turn off in playing an MMO...

well the thing is,they do understand english but they need to see you talk more ingame befoer they consider talking to you,i know quite a few spanish speaking players ingame that talk to me in english daily when im on,because i actually talk in global chat all the time, and no i dont speak or understand spanish but like i said, they understand english also, well most of them and if you ask nicely and stay in touch they will grow on you. and i vote yes on the friendslist ^^

I had that same experience the other day. I was helping this guy who was trying to find NPC's in Montsignor (or however you say it). I happened to have done that quest and memorized the NPC locations because I couldn't find them at all.
Anyways, I helped this guy who was asking in Spanish (I can read a bit of Spanish) a few times and then others started raggin' on me because "Bergon" means something funny in Spanish. This guy was cool and asked them not to do that and told that I was helping.
Normally, I only respond in global chat when a question is asked - but hopefully overtime people will be more accepting. I have been told to "cayate" (shut up) quite a few times, but just let it roll off your back.
Last night, I had a cool group with a guy who I simply just ran into in game. He spoke english a bit (better than my spanish for sure), but not really enough to have any real conversation, but that shouldn't matter. Just do the best you can and realize that many more people can understand you than you think.
Unfortunately, there are a few people speaking English that are being rude and constantly insulting people and thus are ruining the game for the rest of us who truly desire to enjoy playing together regardless of language barriers.
