I am a level 11 Nordo Mage. When I talk to the trainer, I do not not see any option to choose a subclass. How do I choose one? Also, I hear people talking about giving points the certain powers, but I do not have any when talking to the trainer. I see the blank spaces on the bottom of trainer window, but there are none there. Any help would be appreciated (sorry if it is a nooby question).

When you're at lvl10, the mage trainer in Mont will tell you to speak to two people. They are the trainers for conjurers and warlocks. Make sure you're speaking to the relevant trainer, not the mage trainer. I'm not sure if you can specialise by talking to conjurer/warlock trainers in other towns outside of Mont though.
However, since you mentioned that you're missing power points even though you're already lvl11, it could be that you're afflicted with a bug and if that's the case you should report it in detail via the bug-report page on the main website or make a thread in the Gameplay Problems section of the forum.
Edit: The city is Montsognir, not Birka. Sorry for the error (I keep mistaking between the two)

Click on the name of the skill tree (not the level up button) and the powers associated with it will come up in the slots.
Depending on what realm you are in, you have to go the trainer of the subclass you wish to choose in the first city of the inner realm. In Alsius, the city is Montsognir, Syrtis is Fisgael and Ignis is Altaruk. To put points into powers, click on the icon of the discipline your power is in. For example, the spell Arcane Missile is in the mental discipline, so you would click on the icon next to the word 'mental'. Then, all your available skills will appear on the squares below the list of disciplines and you can assign power points to them by clicking on the arrows next to them.
Remember that to get a skill to lvl 3, you must have 11 points into the required discipline. 15 points for lvl 4, 19 for lvl 5. The number of discipline points you can gain depend on your lvl.

I think I know what the problem was. I stayed in Rottersval village instead of moving on to Montsognir. But now I have another problem!
I had originally made a Syrtis character on the Official server. Then I started getting unable to connect to server, so made a new character on the Experimental server, and chose the Alsius realm. The new character was the level 11 Nordo mage. Now I am still getting unable to connect to server messages for the Official server, but I have the Syrtis character on the Experimental server! Is there any way I can get my level 11 Nordo mage back? My Syrtis character is only level 2.

no chance..
on experimental all rewards (xp,gold,rp) are multiplied by 10 so it would be unfair..

But the Official server does not work for me. The only way I can play is to use the Experimental server. Does that mean every time I reach level 11 on the Experimental server the character gets reset?

To be a Conj, you would have to speak to a Conj trainer, whereever he is in your realm. And you just speak to a Warloc trainer to become one.
I doubt this helps you but, HEY, it was worth a shot Hehe.

It doesn't get reseted, but NGD periodically copies your characters from the live server into the experimental (in the assumption that you've been playing on the live server regularly, therefore you should have a higher lvl character from the live server copied into the exp server). Therefore any characters you have in the experimental will be overwritten. There's really no point in lvling a character in the experimental server at all. Have you posted in the technical support forums as to why you can't login into the live server?

Problem solved! I was using the wrong (linux) binary that I downloaded, instead of the one in the regnum folder. Thank you for all the help.
