ok
i thought i was helping butt now i dont think i helped him at all'

this noob in alsius asked me for 50k to buy some srmor and weapon with, being the nice goat i am i gave him 100k. he was so happy u think it was his birthday lol.

the next day he pm'd me . he asked how much money i have, i asked why. he said because he was going to be the lowest lvl player to make the top 30 rank for most gold. he said he now has 2mil already. i asked him why would he ask me for gold if he had some.

he said he was broke yesterday when he saw how generous i was he new he could get lots of peopleto give him gold, so he just keep asking people after me.

i thought i was helping, butt i think i may have caused a biger problem by doing so

was i wrong for helping , is it a good idea to help new comers or not , or should i be of no more help to any of them?

please let me know what u think all coments r appriciated

some people like this guy abuse it...

some one asked me for 2000 gold.. and i gave them 1 million......

someones else asked me for 800k and said they would pay me back on sunday....

i gave them 1 million.... and its been a month ... they didnt pay me back....

then again... don't give anything you can't get back on your own....

help people if you want to... but if they scam you ... that's all there is to it...

Well... There is nothing wrong about helping people out. I do it quite frequently even though I'm always short on cash. But there are limitations in my point of view.

1.) NEVER give to a begger. If you see a guy, and he asks for money, just say "No."

* You can make an exception for your close friends and friends in real life.

2.) In most cases ONLY give to people who never ask for anything. Example: You hang around with this person, and he never asks for money or something like that.

I hope you have abetter understanding now :). So basically, don't give to beggers, and give to people who don't. Lol

My policy on free money/stuff :

Person must be nice

Person must not ask for any money for any reason (exceptions are of course people you already know well)

Person must not have enough money to cope for themselves

Person must not have a history of wasting money on stupid shit

NEVER give money to beggars, it encourages them.

I generally give nice newbies 10k to get them started :)

I don't give out money unless it's to top up short amounts of gold (say someone is short 5k or so for a weapon and they accidentally sold their only one). Else, I usually just give out dropped equipment to newbies if I don't put 'em in banks instead.

lol i remeber when DMC gave me 500k, instead of 5k like he wanted. and i offered it bak and he told me no to spend it all at once. so i saved it and started helping off other lower lvls than myslef

you can make over 1million per day if you farm....

I remember a German Conjurer (can't recall her name) giving my noob barb 5k. I was resting and didin't said any word.

Giving out 50k its a lot, specially for low levels. Think 5 to 10k is enough, weapons are not that expensive, and i rather give him 5k and tell him not to buy armour and weapon every single level, than giving him 50 or 100k.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Farming is when you are killing the same kind of mobs again and again, non-stop, as fast as possible.

Why ?

To get good loot and a lot of money.
To make this effective you should also keep near to a merchant ;)

nah i dont reckon it was that bad if people keep refusing he wont get far. the only time i ever give money is when someone new from my clan says dammit
5k away from buying that uber double handed blade ah well just gonna have to keep killing with my shield and butter knife until i can become a real barb lol maybe not excactly like this but if they do say something along those lines i'll give them money and if they dont i bug them until they give it back and then i get awd to kick them outta our clan

easy some ppl like buying a lot of stuff. if u a archer u gotta becareful to not over do it or u go broke in a sec. as a mage try not to buy to many staff is no point in that. once u get a makret u can hold that for a while till u get master

I remember somone asked me for money, I didn't want to risc too much so I gave him only 2k , after that he had the guts and the stupidity to ask me for my password .... as you can see in the abuse thread ;)
That was actually funny.

From that day I give no money.

well, it's ok to give some noobs some money to start out with, I remember how hard it was for me to start out myself, it's just how much to give to your average friend noob and when not. If someone continuously begs you I won't give, but if he asks politely and friendly I can give.

Once i visited Rotterdale i gave away like 50k and 100k and a nice +2 int bow. What use to sell such stuff, young ones need it. To beggars i NEVER give anything. This "Uh i need 50k to armor" talked my and pestered me also, but i knew it was a fake. I really dont think any 20-45 needs money as gift with all those generous Questgivers around.

if im in a good mood i go to the nooby lands and help someone or a friend while i help them i buy them items and give them money for starter. im sure many do stuff like this before

I'm new (level8), but based on other games I've played WoW/EQ etc.. I never even thought of asking/begging for gold. It makes no sense to me as my 1st character it would ruin some of the experience.

i never give money to random people. If some of my friends need money they get it of course.
But i give advices how to make money.

doing quests, not buying armor each level.

When i leveled my very first char i was poor all the time and even had to lend 200k, but nowdays money isnt a problem at all.
