View Full Version : Gallery of cheaters/bugusers?

I consider to create a thread about cheaters/bugusers. There everybody can post who he/she suspects of it.
Of course you have to furnish a proof, that can be a screenshot of the log, witnesses or other things.
Nobody should be blamed here because he/she is reported in a gallery like this. But when several people can confirm this it stands to reason that the suspect is true.
What can you reach when reporting someone? The aim should not be to ban somebody, the aim should be to make the person to loose reputation. To isolate the person from community. This way the cheater maybe gives up playing, or even better stops to cheat to gain a better reputation.
That means, when someone is just angry about a person who killed him/her and reports him/her in a gallery like this it is like nothing, when not other people confirm that. I am sure that there are in every realm some names of supposable cheaters known for the majority of people. To report these should be a gallery like this.
What do you think? Should we create this gallery or would it only be abused for vengeance of a lost fight?

I think its a good idea.
People might also avoid them in the game, making it much less fun.
Like when your atacking a difficult mob and it is about to kill you and someone sees you and diverts its attention so you don't die.
Its things like that ( helping other people, and then becoming friends ) is what makes the game worth while.

Im totally against this idea, mistakes will be made, a classic example was when Twinkle was accused of using a speed cheat when she was not. It was in fact a serious bug within the game that i am glad (as is she) to say ngd fixed promptly.

ah yea right...
That would end up in useless witchhunts.
go the official way:
and report it to NGD

NGD already implemented a official report e-mail address, there is no need to report things in-forum that would eventually end up in flame wars between eachother and to say the truth for the best of the community its better to report it to that e-mail address.

I'd go with Joel's suggestion, Cumeri. I think it's good that you at least ask first before posting any screens. Much as I hate "that guy" for blatantly cheating I still think it's best to keep it in low-profile and report directly to NGD. They really do pay attention to serious stuff like this.

it's a hard one, I see the positive effects but I also see the negative effects. But why underestimate the community right away when we could chose to give it a chance. A screenshot can be very hard to determine if someone used a cheat/bug. If someone abuses a bug at a certain time, knows he will be reported and waits again he'll just get away with it, cause ngd can't ban him without proof themselves. If you see where I'm heading

i agree with angelwinged ; i like the idea of players holding players accountable for their actions
butt i still agree with my origanal post that i think this thread will cause alot of problems
i guess what im saying is that if we could trust everyone to be honest with their acusations it might work
butt i see people accusing people over the wrong matters likw; i cant kill him no matter how many times i try so lets try to get him banned so when i see he has a bug effect ill take a screnny real quick and post it and say he abused it and continued to use it all day . and im telling the truth because look i got a screen shot of it.
my confidence lvl in this community is low
i know that most of us that post regularly would probly make it work, butt as soon as everyone learns that they can out someone on the forum ; well u know where im goin

I go with AD as well as with chuck.
I don't know if it would solve more problems than it generates. That's why I asked about your opinions.
As it is posted before there is a mail account to report abusers. I think it is nothing wrong about reporting someone there. So NGD can decide, and no reputation is damaged because of causeless suspections.
