i know exactly 20 ways to crash regnum... ill post more if you guys dont know them.... I see this post as an educational game...
THINGS NOT TO DO
by the way... i told ngd that there were some serious things wrong with the game... but they didnt do anything about it...
I told them other things like how my Items vanished.. and they did nothing about it... Out of the last few bugs I found... Surakor personally said to me in game... That I do not want him to be angry with me... I see that as an open threat...
Why did he say it? Because I posted a bug picture on forums showing all enemies names along with all allies names on screen.
He said he knew how to do it... and wanted to see if my way was the same as his... I simply said... what is your way? I feel I get more done in a productive way by posting here in the forums...
Because in the past I have talked until i was blue in the face and typed until my fingers bled orange puss.... This is the best way to make things happen...

and sh*t, i would shore like to know how u got both enemy and freindly names to appear, i cant seem to find out how to do it

My regnum crash only one time per month, maybe I am disqualified for this forum game ;).
The only two ways for me is trying minimize and maximize regnum too often while loading screens and sometimes with Windows OS try to Alt + Tab out of the game while in fullscreen mode.
Edit:
And go into fort war with more than 80 peoples with an ISDN internet connection...(works only with regnum version since 0.9.23)

well that sucks if u find a bug and try to help and get open threats from ngd for your trouble.
I have never seen any example of NGD being unreasonable. DemonMonger admitted that he didn't tell Surak the details of the bug when asked. If you are really trying to help, DemonMonger, just be professional and offer your help without being coy. Please remember that debugging code can be hard, frustrating, and consume lots of time. NGD doesn't need to waste their energy trying to drag answers out of some player who wants to toy with them.
That said, as long as it is not a bug that can be abused to affect gameplay, I see no problem with reporting it publicly on the forum. I have no doubt that NGD will eventually fix the bugs when they get time and when there are not more important bugs waiting to be fixed.

Let me explain again.... maybe there was a language barrier.... When NGD said they knew how to duplicate it, The exact words used are burned into my mind.
Surakor: I saw your post on the forums today and it was disturbing. I have found a way to duplicate the bug. Tell me your way so i can see if it is the same as my way.
Demon Mongers Child: Tell me your way and I will tell you if it is the same way as mine? What is your way?
Surakor: You do not want me to get angry with you.
Demon Mongers Child: It's not a matter of that. I've been to the point with you guys finding and reporting all these bugs since day 1. You say that you know how to do the bug... There is only 1 way to do it. I just want you to be truthful with me as well. If you found way to do the bug then it is the only way.
Surakor: Ok in a few moments I will test on experimental server I will let you know when
Demon Mongers Child: Just send me a message and I'll go help you test
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Test result: Upon pressing V it hides all monsters / enemy names
Demon Mongers Child: Well this works to hide the enemy names but the bug is still there.
Surakor: Hmmm
Demon Mongers Child: It will do anyways.
Update was created..........
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was not coy with him... I asked a simple question and got a threat...
I have spoken of more serious things with the admins... things that still have not been fixed... everyones account is at risk.... and most of you are oblivious to why and how.... Do not insult me... For the most part I am professional with my help with the admins... And yes I know how hard it is to debug, and how changing 1 line of code can ruin the entire sequence... Ive been programming for over 10 years. I was not toying with them, if you find a way to duplicate the bug you would know from that it was the only way.... it was very obvious. And the way the bug was fixed tells me one thing.....
I don't want to be talked to as a person that doesnt know whats going on... I'm 26 years old and not one to be taken lightly....at least with computer issues.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to insult you or slight your intellegence (and despite how this post may sound, I am still not). I hope I am not misunderstanding you again, but from your last post it looks like you thought Surak was lying about knowing how to duplicate the bug, you called him on it, and that is why he threatened you?
Well, maybe you are a more talented programmer and smarter than Surak, but yet we are all here playing a game that he helped create (praise be to Surak (http://regnumcba.blox.pl/2007/11/0064.html) and the game He created in His image ). I think if you want to help, then help. If you want to post bug reports, then please do. If you want to complain, then do so. But whatever you do, do it in a manner that is respectful to NGD and it's employees as they gave us this free game for all to enjoy in hopes that some people who could afford to to pay would do so.
but i think you dont know 20 ways thats why u want other people to list the rest
It seems that it is in people's nature not to trust each other...

I've done more than my fair share of complaining both in-game and in the forums. One thing that I have come to realize is there are a lots of things that need to be fixed, improved, and changed. When I read the forums and see a thread about a specific issue it's always the same. Everyone expects the problem they're referring to, to take top priority. I myself issued a harsh complaint a few days ago regarding lag and Surak replied almost immediately with a response that made me realize I didn't need to assume it wasn't being work on. I think despite what everyone thinks, that NGD is actively working on the issues in a planned order of priority. Everything takes time especially when you're short staffed. I agree that having a game that doesn't crash is important. However, searching out obscure ways to make it happen doesn't help anything. If anyone is under the impression that NGD is not interested or doesn't care about the issues involved in the developement of RO think about this. We are here in the forum complaining about the problems in a game that we play in our spare time. The staff at NGD is working on a product that their entire livelihood relies on.

One of these days my south cross is going to hit max damage on DMC and there won't be any time for escape. :p
Though, I'll take him over Kaelina any day. Kaelina just downright ruthless, and annoying to boot.

Just discovered one, it's an INSTA-CRASH:
Try and take a screenshot in windowed mode. I've only tried this on my laptop, in the windows client. It's a sure-fire way to crash the game.

When it *does* crash, my game tends to crash from what appears to be game related bugs, ending a quest, hitting the clan admin button recently, that kind of thing. Not often, but just occasionally and randomly. Aside from that I probably drop *totally* randomly two or three times a week.
All in all I maybe crash seven times a week, which considering I play *alot* most days isn't too bad at all...
I'm currently using Gutsy on an AMD with 1 gig and a Nvidia 6200. I don't run stuff in the background, like music players and messengers, and I only use windowed mode if I'm doing forum admin whilst keeping in touch on the clan channel.
Compared to alot of commerical windows titles I used to play before I switched over to Linux, Regnum seems pretty stable to me.

I particularly crash A LOT whenever i turn the camera arround violently... and i do that like, every 5 seconds or so. Game freezes for a second or two, then either continues or crashes.

That sounds alot like the problem Revenant Mersault had, we narrowed it down to a powerful Nvidia card with insufficient cooling. He ran his system with the side of the case off for a while and it was fine, might be worth a try...

I can't help but feel these are special features for windows users...
But seriously, I did have a short period of playing Regnum on my laptop, that had XP installed on a second partition due to the fact Linux ATI support is poor, and it had on board ATI graphics. And come to think of it that did crash quite often, even when I wasn't doing anything.

oooohhh... this going to be so *HUGYGGGJ* hard:
From last 2 updates:
1.Minimize game (you'll get memory leaks and after som minimizes it will crash)
2. play the game at all and if you not have crashed over a whole day you will crash cause Regnum takes about 2gb ram and 1gb swap ;-)
3.Typing Password to fast and press enter(sometimes crash)
more more .. I don't have time to type more.. :P
BTW right now Regnum have 9 unic leaks and 12 unic segfaults :)
