Not the highest...I heard back before the 10% rule was introduced, people were just hitting one impossible mob once for tiny dmg and getting +200 GRP...

Yeah, the Algaros party was great for people like me who hate to train ;) I really miss the great chaos. It was Syrtis on its best!
Too bad I missed the dragon fighting. Happy new year everyone!

this kinda dmg cannot be done to realm enemies, but with certain buffs monsters only

Yeap, they surely had a Knight there that used:

Taunt (5): -80% protection.
Disabling (5): -70% protection.

Leaving him at zero protection (unarmoured).

But even if death sentence was cast on him even with those debuffs, max would be 150 per tick, wouldn't it? And why is the big hit so small?

Check the first few lines of the log, the previous serpent bite I had cast is equally amazing :clapclap:

You can add the warlock spell fragility too (i dont know whats exactly the effect on damage but on regular mobs it helped my archer alot).

And if you add sudden strike(-50% protection) the dragon would have -200% protection, the poor creature.

I still think it's weird to cast *serpent* bite on a *dragon* :p

I don't think it works like that. I think it works by deducting 50% of the base value instead of whatever value it was currently debuffed to (already tested in the arena). Like adrianpf's example you can only drop it down to 0%. So casting 2 or 3 armor debuffs is enough on champions to leave them unarmored, if you have other types save them for when the old debuffs wears out.

I think it's multiple Death Sentences. That spell increases (on lvl5) ranged damage by 50%. We're talking A LOT of DS's here. On both these dragons. Well, either that, or some nearby admin had something to do with that ;)

If I'm not mistaken spells don't stack up either. So if someone casts DS lvl5 and then some lvl30ish casts DS lvl3 the other one gets cancelled. But since debuffs can be stacked with other debuffs of different classes but same type often there's more than enough debuffs going on anyway.

yes, DS doesnt stack, it overrides just as any other buff.
But multiple -protection buffs work.
Still, somehow you can do insanly high damage from time to time on the dragon, which cant be explained easily.

look at the screen

its a 772/tick serpent.

Twix, long time ago I made some tests and I saw armour becoming negative. Today, after new tests I concluded in this:

- Negative Armour increases damage.

I already reported this bug. This dragon thing made me catch again this doubt about negative armour.

Now you know why those tremendous hits took place!

Regards!

nice, negative armour? is that possible using debuffs and such?

In the tests I've done:

Disable(5) (-70% protection) + Fatal Strike(5) (-70% protection)

Used this on a Barbarian with 490 armour points and left him with -180.

Damage with 0 armour (armour items off): 320
Damage with -180 armour: 350

oh wow it shouldn't get percent from the basic but from the actual, then... it really makes it wicked!

Snoid

it seems NGD fails in maths...

if you take the 70% of a quantity, and then you take another 70%, you dont get a "negative" value. you just get... mmmm 9%? didn't use the calc, maybe im failing maths too (i used to)

Ah, and all this while I thought you could never get below 0%. Surely this is a bug?

Is what I'm asking in my report. Maybe it's done like that to lower "natural armor" (as I thought and Piz said too).

I agree with Ramona, it should be stackable. 490 -70% = 147 - 70% = 44.1
