Sry Lady (hi Caliope), but I must be real in this answer... even the elfs take a lot of pieces over the Regnum, making collors changes, make ups (green or reds) they are the same thing, just with a little touch of paint... sounds like the imagination go way...

BUT, if ur mind go over that... search for some real NEW things... may..., just may, the answers for that question have another collor... look the sky ;)

By the way Markus ... the first I in Isyrtis is an upside down exclamation mark. In Spanish the question and exclamation marks also appear upside down at the beginning of the sentence.

I like syrtis beacuse I like forests and grasslands, and also, the beach is beautiful. Syrtis has a lot of players because elves became very popular after LOTR. They became very popular because the people from south america heard about elves for the first time in LOTR.

I knew about them since I have memory. Since I was a child I have read books about leyends of Europe.
EDIT: Also, I read the Silmarillion at the age of 12.

Well, a lot of people from all over the world heard about Elves from LOTR :) (I'm assuming you are talking about the book of course).
Or at least, the Tolkienesque version of the elves (tall, proud, magical, pointy ears, etc).
Tolkien had a strong influence from european mythology and fables. So, the concept of "Elves" existed long before (as well as goblins, gnomes, etc). Funny enough, Elves were usually portrayed as small magical beings.

And Xephandor:
The "Elf" plural is "Elves" (also elfs according to the following wikipedia article). And "Elven" is the adjective. I.e.: An elven bow was found in the fiery caves.
