View Full Version : You know what I think?

I think the developers work so hard to give us a game that runs smoothly and is entertaining.

Not to mention the fact that it IS balanced. I have given this a lot of thought, and I really do believe that the game is balanced. For every short coming that one class has, they have another to make up for it. And if it's unbalanced, the developers try their best to come up with ways to re-balance it.

There are also people like Joel, who keep us informed of fixes and bugs, and try their best to be diplomatic and people just walk all over him! They walk all over the developers, too. No, I don't mean all of you, of course not. There are so many individuals who play this game who are genuinely sweet and involved. But there really are just some people who are just rude.

The developers are such sweet people, giving us such a good quality game for free. This is definitely NOT a case of "you get what you pay for." There are, indeed, a few games that I have been a part of as they've developed. I think it's exciting to see how a game evolves and improves with time.

This is NOT a thread for bitching. This is a thread to appreciate all the hard work that the developers and many other people put into the game. So please, if you care to complain about the game, please start your own thread because it's not welcome here.

I just wanted to say, thanks! ^-^"

The game was already balanced before, the fact that they keep on renewing every lil skill of classes and the game has more intense lag from before. Can you not see this?

I agree entirely with Arcane Apparition Kuroihitomi.

I'm not sure what I can add to what has been said above, only to say that starting or participating in juvenile attacks against the game, arguments completely centered around the preservation of your own class, or threatening to leave the game are all very unhelpful.

Furthermore I fail to see how any of the changes, which it is important to note our merely being tested, that's why they are on the *TEST* server, are so unfair as to cause such a hostile and ridiculous back lash.

There is such a thing as peaceful protest, and useful debate. I think it would make things go more smoothly if we could attempt to do things that way as a community.

I'd like to give my best wishes to the developers, and hope they don't have to suffer this kind of behaviour for long, considering they're quite busy with devoting their time to developing this game for us.

Lol, yeah most of the changes in experimental did came in the international?
For e.g. Thirst for Blood.

And I assume you would be the single party who has authoritatively decided the game is balanced, I'm sure you're the best equipped to judge whether changes need making to game play at any point. I promised to avoid sarcasm upon returning to the forums, oh well.

The lag seems to be a pertinent problem for some users, but don't assume we all have your problem. I've played happily lag free since the last patch, with a large number of other players, also enjoying the same. I haven't ever had consistent lag problems since I started playing.

The way projects like this work, is we play the game, and helpfully deliver information back to the developers. They continue to try and improve the game for us with the resources they have at their disposal. Aggression and flame seeding are not useful tools in this cycle.

And how do you suggest they do that? Alright then, fine, go email them and tell them *exactly* what they should do.

All I want to say that I agree with the first post and I have to add they DO work on lags, they DO stress tests on Amun, and they DO care about what we say. The thing they don't reply is that they have better things to do and work at than answering every whine thread. Believe me, NGD is aware of all bugs discovered and reported by players.

My point is that, as Kuroihitomi stated, this does not belong here.

This is a thread to appreciate all the hard work that the developers and many other people put into the game

Yet here they are messing with everything again in a huge way. Not just tweaking, but totally changing the nature of core skills of yet another a class. And they'll tell you straight out, there's a lot more of this to come.

This game WAS balanced..Past tense.

There are also people like Joel, who keep us informed of fixes and bugs, and try their best to be diplomatic and people just walk all over him! They walk all over the developers, too. I prefer the word blunt. Honest works too.

Said backlash is to ensure that said changes never go beyond the test server. Obviously.

Then perhaps they will not go past the test server if all this continues.

Thank you to all the people who actually understood the point of this post.

And some of the developers do speak English, and we have proof of this if you will call that horrid incident with DMC. So they are listening. Just because they don't respond, it doesn't mean that they don't hear you. Can you possibly fathom how large this forum really is? How many posts there are? I posted before I went to sleep last night, and when I woke up, there were two pages of comments. If the developers did nothing but read and respond to the forum, they'd NEVER get anything done. And, considering this is a multi-lingual game, it's an asset that anyone on the Balance team speaks not only English, but Spanish, and I'm sure there are some who speak German, too.

Valorius, you don't have to be rude to be honest. In fact, I think that if you were polite sometimes, people would be more responsive to you. There are ways in which you can be upset AND polite, you know.

And I'm sorry that some of you believe that this game isn't worth the "months and months" of game time that you've spent on it, or the money. However, all the ups and downs and the goods and bads that I've experienced during this game are just that. I'm not angry about any of it in retrospect, however frustrated I was at the time, like when spells stopped working or when writing text would switch off and your player did a little dance as you typed. None of that put me off RO, and any other thing that has happened hasn't either. I think that the months and months and all the money that I have given have been entirely worth it. Games are meant to be fun, but if they weren't frustrating at times, we wouldn't value the fun so much. You cannot have the good without the bad. You cannot be a part of the development and cry when your opinion isn't popular. Well, you can, but there's a rhyme and a reason, my friends

BUT THIS IS NOT THE POINT AT ALL

Guys, really, this was just supposed to be a nice tribute to the developers for people who actually recognize their hard work.

AS I SAID
If you want to whine about the game, PLEASE, start your own thread.

This is not a thread to bash the game, or complain about who speaks what language, and it is CERTAINLY not a thread to be rude. So please, go away if you would like to do that, and leave us to our own. Thank you.

Anyway, back on track, I concur with Trix. I've not experienced lag in a long time. It happened...oh....right around the time I switched from Windows to Linux. ^-^" There are not many Ghost excursions that are riddled with lag, I must say. However, there are a few friends of the Company that experience it, so perhaps it has to do with the operating system, more than it does with the actual game itself. That isn't, by all means, necessarily true, but it seems plausible in my brain.

And again, kudos to the developers that made a game for Linux, too! ^-^" It made me so happy to know that I didn't have to stop playing when I got my laptop. Perhaps one day they'll make a Mac version, and it could be a truly cross-platform game. That would be interesting to see, I think.

Again, thank you to the people who actually passed the literacy test in high school (if you don't have it in yours, it's a test that basically has you follow instructions to a T) and contributed positively to this thread. ^-^""

Thanks for your words, I couldn't find them to express what I fell about the game because English is not my native language.

NGD wants more than nobody that this game gets better and that people like it. It's a hard task and they are doing their best.

I read the ENTIRE forum and, as Kuroihitomi stated, it takes a LOT of time, I read English forum as well, and try to answer in what I can... and sincerely I take in account your comments, and communicate them to NGD when needed.

This game will suffer lots of changes, and the time you spent wont be wasted. The promise is a great game, and it's heading that way... this last year there has been a great evolution in several subjects, and I'm glad of it.

There's a lot of work to do. I simply give my free time away, and I don't regret it.

I will continue helping, and criticizing in a good way, harsh complaints only lead to discord and mess up feedback.

Thank you NGD for your efforts. I will sum mine to yours for this to become even a better game.

Regards.

it's when some spells didn't stop working like resurrection dizzyness, you couldn't get attacked but you could easily attack others.

Anyway I think this game is nice and ngd is trying their best to do a great job for us, and this I do appreciate

all this whining keeps me out of the forums lately.
Its so pathetic what i read there, especially in the development section ... which should be reserved for more important things than "wah wah, they want to steal my candy" postings.

well im just glad that NGD has a thick skin and still make the decisions they think are right.
An still they listen to the community as a whole, probably more than any other game company.

in other words: Thanks for the thread kuroihitomi :)
