You are GREAT. Amazing, I'm really impressed by your artwork.
At first sight the pose was kind of strange, but then I realized it's a dwarf (the boots are too big and legs too short)... And he's pointing to an --aparently far away-- target :D
Can I save it and print it, please? :D

Nice, I love the pastel-like lights! I can't do CG for life!
The bow looks like an elf bow but oh well xD nothing ruins the drawings, it's perfectly coloured, I really love it!

Wow, you made a dwarf archer look cool.
Thats impressive.
If you can make an elf who not looks gay you can be called a God.
And we will make a church for you or something.

Thanks for the feedback guys :D
Sorry I can't reply to every post, so here goes:
Xeph: You can save and print it as long as you're not putting it in your pr0n folder :P
magnet: I actually used the arrows as a reference scale for the dwarf, assuming the longbow arrow is nearly 2 and half feet the dwarf is nearly 5 feet. And I'm in Ignis savecamping your ass :D
Piz: The bow was mostly inspired from the one used in Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. But yeah, it does look a bit elvish.
kraetzy: I already am a freelance artist.
mirculix & misacc: See above, I don't have a tendency to draw for free :p
daehenob: I forgot to cast them... again. >.>
Twix: That's just how medieval longbowmen draw their arrows, much faster than drawing from quivers ;)
To everyone: Glad you all liked it!

ahh sweet PoP series  understandable!

Well I've heard in medieval they got quivers on the belts, like that:
http://www.leatherbywc.com/DragBeltQuiver2.jpg
but of course, it can refer to some cultural style, I may be not informed enough, as medieval bows aren't my thing! :superpusso:
I really love the colour and light, won't stop babbling about how great it is ^^

Yep, I know quiver belts exists too. I think it looks cooler than the usual back strapped quivers ('cept the one used by Farah :D) but possibly this method of carrying may damage the fletches more easily. I decided to put the arrows in the ground 'cos that's what they used to do for longbowmen. They are entrenched in a position where it's hard for the enemies to get them and the arrows are supplied in that manner so it'd be faster to nock (drawing from belts are still slower, you can try this yourself by posing the nock-draw-loose stance ;)).

Thanks guys :D
I uploaded the event file(s) for this artwork if anyone's interested in having a look at it. In general, an event file is sort of like a recording of how the artwork was drawn, stroke by stroke. The original size of the image was 2880x3840, which is why the files are so big :P
To view them you'll need at least a demo version of openCanvas, the latest version may be found here:
http://www.portalgraphics.net/en/download/oc4/ (1.87mb)
Here are the event files:
http://uploader.polorix.net//files/304/marksdwarf_01.oe4 (16.8mb)
Initial sketch and rendering (Tip: You can slow down the playback from the 'View' dropdown menu).
http://uploader.polorix.net//files/304/marksdwarf_02.oe4 (34.9mb)
Touch up and finishing. (This one is pretty long, don't bother to slow down :P, I doubt if you'll watch it till the end anyway)
uh dont have word... i liked first version when u showed, this one is just to stay and watch it without word for some time... Usually pics loose part of its "soul" when colored, but this one just got better! Excellent pic, excellent colors, well excellent all! pr0 work there
