When I'm playing I do care about RP. But I can assure you that it won't ever change my fighting style. I try to be efficient that's all.

When I'm playing I do care about RP. But I can assure you that it won't ever change my fighting style. I try to be efficient that's all.

I can assure you the firsts in the Rp list (at least Peli) don't care for Rps, they care for fun, for kills and for their realmmates. Players who have a lot of Rps are generally players who play a lot and have a lot of fighting experience. Not all play well but most are very good players (= statistics say they're better than you who read me :p). Myself I don't care at all for Rps score (but I like to receive Rps so it tells me the target died, it's practical), I haven't even played my Warlock seriously for more than one month and typical Rp freaks don't want to lose their advance...

There are Rps-freaks in the game and I'll tell you, most of them aren't in the ranking, or just made into it! Like most people on the ranking I've been ranked since last july so really I don't have time to care anymore...

Finally the anti-Rp guys who say "Rps are for l00sers and if they're not in the list it's just that they doesn't care" are just fools. Most people don't care but end up in the list only by playing regularly. It depends on class/realms of course, some rankings are hard to get in because the realm is full for that class, but most of the rankings are easy to get in since a lot stop playing... Anyone starting to play TODAY who plays 2-3 hours a day can be ranked in 3 months. I see ranked players starting new chars and some time after I see them ranked so it's totally possible.

If you have been playing for more than 4-5 months and aren't ranked yet you just aren't fighting enough. It has nothing to do with killing AFK people. Most classes gain much more Rp at war.

I am also all for Rps having a meaningful use but I'm not favourable to items; I'd prefer getting one more powerpoint for every 10k Rp, and the ability to "give" your Rps to someone else (whatever the realm). Of course you wouldn't be giving Rps, but a value made of Rps (eg, Regnum Coins, 1 Rp gives 1 RC, and you can give RC to whoever you want in the game, as a "respect value". You could get a power point for 10k RC and a stat point for 5k RC)..

The 1st sounds nice, it isn't for getting to 45 instantly that someone is better player. Seasoned players would have an opportunity to play other classes quickly for the exchange of real money (however it can be discussed if all quest should remain enabled for that player or not).

The 2nd I cannot agree, it would introduce a serious gap between regular players and occasional players (like you said, playing time is the main difference on RP rankings) making the return to play from the last a not very enjoyable experience (with less RP they wouldn't be able to cope with those that could boost their power throughout RP spending).

Many months ago I stated that the "always adding" RP system would be better applied if RP could use some purpose, at that time I elaborated an idea but I now acknowledge that it wasn't a very brilliant one. Anyway, I'm totally up for the RP usage of some sort... like spending some RP generates a NPC guard that behaves like a pet (with the new commands) for a limited amount of time and that can only be summoned on the vicinities of a fort, castle, city or realm door; spending RP allows the usage of an unique "super" power (to realm, race and class) once a day (or once every 6 or 12 hours, whatever)...

I said I care about them because it kind of reflect if I participate in helping my realm. Usually I just browse back the log after battles to see. But I really don't know which spells will give me more RP. And I don't control all the action of my pet. If I see a warlock approaching I'll always try to ambush him to protect everyone. If I see a knight I'll cast sudden strike because it helps. I don't know If I'm effective, but I try to be and help Syrtis against the bad guys :D.
