View Full Version : Pure grind is not enough

This game is very nice to play. It's a little slow in some respects but I think it has great potential. Anyway, the point of the thread is this: after lvl 20 (i'm now lvl 24, Syrtis) there seems to be no quests. The combat itself is just not enough to justify the grind ie: striving only towards the next lvl is not enough motivation for me. Quests give u a reason for killing x mobs and give u rewards as well in the form of exp or items/gold. Pls give us more game content!
One other little complaint - special / rare drops...do they happen? It's really quite boring when the only time you get a special item is after completing a quest. It also means that everybody in the game has almost exactly the same gear :/
At the moment I'm in the 'burnt out' stage and lacking motivation but I still play every couple of days for a short time. I hope something comes along soon to renew my interest.

my same problem , I'm level 24 and killing the same monsters hundreds of times again is boring. and the leveling is slow at this stage.
please make a LOT more quests and items.

I don't mean to be the Devil's Advocate, but you should remember that this game is still in Beta. Some of the powers/skills aren't even programmed yet. They're still tweaking and adjusting things.
Give it time; it looks like it will turn out to be a good game. :D

I hear what your saying but the pvp also adds a lot to the game if you stick it out until then. I'm pretty sure more quests will be added too.

This is a weak spot that we have been discussing a lot lately.
The game suffers from lack of content precisely on that level span (24-35).
The game, according to our current high level users, is pretty fun at level 35 or above when you finally get a chance to "go out" into the War zone and battle the other realms, conquering forts and castles, etc.
But between the levels 24 and 35, there is a black void that we are addressing from several points.
- More quests are already planned and as of last week, we have started entering them into the system. Although, It will be awhile until those quests are available on the live server.
- Our plans include quests from levels 1 to 50. We will gradually implement them.
- There are special items that are drop-only. Right now they are just weapons and armor with an added modifier. In the future, those modifiers will increase in variety and of course, there will be other kinds of items.
As many people from United States and other countries said, the game has potential, you just have to try the game once in a while if you get bored to see the improvements. Those who could see the progress we have made, are eager to stick with us.
Just remember, the development of these kind of games never end.

Thanks for the reply Niclaim. I know you guys are just a small team and have a lot of work to do. Please don't get the wrong impression from my first post. I really do like the game very much. Glad to hear there is more content on the way. :tonguey:
I would also like to say that I very much appreciate the developers taking the time to respond to our posts on the forums. Even though the player base is mostly Spanish it's great to see the feedback we get from the team. This is one of the few games where the developers really do a good job keeping in touch with players and we can really feel that someone is listening to us. Keep up the great work NGD! :D

...and one of the very few mmorpg games that has a working Linux client !!! (unofficial but still native).
do you ever intend to open source the game ? (I can assure you that much more Linux users will come and even pay if you do so).

Ahh...the open source question. I would say, if they do open source it, they should only release the code to the client, not the server. If they release the code to the server more people will just put up alternate servers and ngd will not have a chance to earn any money from the people playing on those servers.
NOTE: Unoffical servers happen in every popular mmo, but why should they help them out?
So you're telling me a game like Asheron's Call has an Unofficial Server?

Hmm...I replied, but then my reply disappeared, so I think it might have been deleted. In that case, I will just say that yes, you can find them for many popular mmorpgs. They can be found if you know how.

This is a process done through reverse engineering, not necessarily the release of a source code. Reverse Engineering is against all copy righted programs and games, even connecting to an unoffical server, unless stated by the game devs is illegal, Just for future referecens.
