Less tactics, more reliant on numbers, more disorganised...that kind of stuff. You could search some forum posts which describe it better.

It was inevitable. Now there is an exodus of players to Alsius. They will be next. :D

Not if only people sick with the disease in Syrtis and Ignis switch over :p. Then Alsius will have only mature players. The problem with Ignis and Syrtis is that there are too many new players for existing clans to handle, train and show the ways of Regnum. It becomes worst when they start creating their own clans (aptly called "noobclans") then those clans get into the WZ and the players are still immature: those are "realm mates" you cannot count on; they will cowardly abandon you to the hands of the Enemy. How many times have I seen Syrtenses letting their own kind die at my hand, only to try to run away -- and most often fail. Of course there are some "ham players" in all those "spam players" but the pearl is rare.

The same problem happens in every community - once upon a time netizens would form a true community, sharing common beliefs such as the netiquette (even formalized as RFC 1855). Then the dot com bubble came and there was a massive arrival of new users which made it impossible for the veterans to teach the old ways to the mass; and thus the netizenship was disrupted and no longer exists.

Alsius is the realm which has the tiniest appeal to most players; this is a fact considering most players choose Syrtis, then Ignis. I think it has all to do with the introduction video which presents them with no real trait other than greed for land, while the Syrtis are "wise and just conjurers" and Ignis "dark necromancers fighting back" aka rebels. I personally chose Ignis because they looked like the third world against the almighty USA/West: black people, suffering from apartheid, living in the desert, wearing turbans, and wielding dark magics: what else could I ask for? Well, certainly not for what Ignis is slowly but definitely becoming :).

Since I don't care for background RP elements (and the game makes me not care), I'd rather play with the unnumbered but fearful, proud and temerous Dwarves of Alsius :beerchug: (even if I know that the realmmates I hold in high regard have cold feet about living in the snow).

Yep, I died so many times too due to it, logged off often cause of that. I see few players playing more coordinately, when those players are on Ignis rocks (don't wanna say names ^^)... But very often ignis starts to rely only on number and runs backward at the first difficult met.

It would be a bit harsh to give Alsius the same problems we're suffering from. ;) But it would be a great war tactic. Syrtis has just so many noobs. Every time this games get more popular there will come more noobs. And Syrtis will get the most of this trouble. Our quality, which has always been low, is slowly becoming worse and worse. And even the best clans here have to cope with the leaving of bored experienced players and new noobs. Some clans more than others, but still... If only all bad players went to other realms... :P

I have something to add about all this "Ignis issue".

I've played in all time charts from 00:00 up to 23:59 GMT (not on the same day... well, once... or twice...) and I've realized some things: it's up to the hour you play.

My favorite playing hour is after 2:00 GMT, and that's because it's at that hour and beyond that "La Orden Ignita" and "Dark Brotherhood" rallies its best players, meaning, total pawnage from Samal up to Herb or Pinos, at those hours, and with the proper players, not even the goats hold Samal or Menirah for much time... and this takes me too...

It's a nonsense to advocate that Alsius has better coordination then other realms, what in fact happens is: Alsius best players play at the same hour more frequently then Ignis or Syrtis ones.

Example: yesterday around 4:00 GMT Syrtis attacks Samal with strong numbers, including 6 (!) lvl 50 knights among other high lvl players and the usual lot of archers --> epic battle! With the following reply on Herb!! There weren't pussies among the greens, from Ferraje to Tui they held Samal for a healthy... half hour (we weren't pussies either ^^).

And there are as many lvl 50 coward noobs among Alsius as in any other realm, including some well known that farm RP either on Skellie or near the teleport, and I'm not talking about hunters, I'm talking about full lvl 50 parties that for strange reasons only find a proper match among lvl 45 below... (and there are greens that do it, and reds do it too on other saves... its usual and always will be as long as hunts are rewarded above captures).

But I know quite well what pisses Red or DF... we have good players, they just don't play at the same time.

Last but not least there's another thing that plays in favor for Alsius, they not only have the biggest number of high lvl knights and barbs playing at the same hour but also... all of them start with 30+ const except nordos (against Esquelios in Ignis and Half Elves in Syrtis), and although I think there aren't balancing issues I know many lvl 50 knights on other realms that would trade their mother for a +5 const item bonus...

i think the main reason syrtis does so poorly with fort wars is because of this:
stone is captured by alsius by 30 goats
player a and player b run into help
player a and player b die
player a and player b run into help
player a and player b die
player c joins in with the charging
player a, b and c all die
etc etc until we eventually have enough people to kill the enemies inside of the fort
BUT when syrtis listens to the people saying wait for more we actually kill the enemies quite easily without losing any or little people

I have to agree with this. Even in Syrtis, our best players seem to play at different times. Good observation there. :beerchug:
