Which kind of staff should warlock use and why?

Range/speed/which element?
Which bonuses it should have?

I see most people use lighting, so I suppose there is a reason for it..but I dunno what is it :imstupid:

Depends for what purpose. If you're a Warlock or a support Conj, you should use a Fast staff. The faster the staff, the shorter the delay between casts is. And you want to chain your casts to have spell combos. This is very noticeable once you start using Arcane Devotion to increase casting speed (which you should do ASAP).

I'm personally a fast staff freak so I'm really only advertising this; however if you want to kill someone escaping it can be useful to have a range 30 high damage slow staff handy (and cast arcane projection if needed).

If you're in Alsius, you are bound to use the Dareh staff (available around lv 32) as a fast staff (because the elfic staff isn't available there), as a slow staff I'd recommend the Dragon Eye which does the job pretty good but I'm not really a slow staff expert ;).

Good luck

Actually the very first fast staff is aviable at lvl 28. I think itīs called "combat staff" or something... I always carry a handful of those.

fast range 25 staff, I wouldn't use anything else.

for beginers try a 25 ranged, medium staf. later on get more speed and range with 2 stafs (diferent damage types to balance more)

The first staff is a lvl 23 Combat Staff, range 20. Then you get a Dareh Staff (rng 25) at lvl 27 up to around 32, then you have a quest which gives you a lvl 39 Dareh Staff, then you don't have anymore fast staves until lvl 47 where you get a range 20 fast staff (Elven Staff) which is only available as a drop in Alsius.

Btw Dragon Eye Staff is a range 30 medium.

speed speed speed, that's your most important factor. Use anything else than a fast staff and get pwned, you will rely on spells and if you can cast more of them and faster it will only be better. So fast. I myself use a range 20 fast staff +4 int XD for combat and a range 25 fast for levelling

@necrovaron: true, I have one on myself with +4 conc XD. ALthough I'd rather use meteor if they exceed 30, or magma blast.

As already stated, a fast staff is the best to use for war.

However, it is worth having a slow staff on your fast bar for those occasions you are under dizzy cast for a little extra damage.

Personally, i use an elven staff for normal use (Thanks to running gag for the kind gift of it), and when i am dizzy i swap to an apocalypse staff of fire until the dizzy effect wears off

i tihnk that wheter they do lightning, fire or ice dmg doesnt really matter except for the enemies armor

eg if the enemy has armor that is good against lightning and fire but weak against ice ice will do more dmg

Thanks for help guys, Im lvl 33 warlock in Alsius btw since I didnt mention it earlier. I shall get the fast staff as soon as I log in, which would be in 5 mins

Oh one more thing, is there a way to swap weapons fast somehow? I get the feeling that there is, while reading your replies. :imstupid: still :fingers:

Just drag 'n drop the weapons in your quickbar for fast access.

See you in Alsius
