I read the changelog and found this:
Version: 0.9.03 (Date: 2007/4/17)
Balance:
- Update: Spell casting is now affected by the speed of the weapon. Wait time for Warriors = weapon_speed / 1.5 - for Mages and Archers = weapon_speed / 3.
What does it mean? I thought the wait time between 2 spells is affected by weapon speed equally for all classes...and I thought it is the same time than the wait time between normal hits.

Yes, this is the case.
Warriors have more speed penalty then the other classes.

As they should, especially female Ughtar Barbs :mf_hide:

Listing actual weapon speed in seconds would be a nice upgrade to Regnum. Hopefully at some point, NGD will find the time to do that.

Im not quite sure if I understand..
This means that if I have a very slow weapon, it'll take me longer to cast say Ripost, then a medium weapon?
If thats the case - Barbs are screwed.
Are far as I've seen, the fastest lvl 50 weapon for barbs is slow.. And nearly all use very slow. If it turns out to be how I described, this may put people off using their lvl 19 weapon areas, as it'll mean they'll take longer than the already, annoying but fair, 3 seconds.

Do they talk about the wait time between 2 spells or about the time you need to cast a single spell?
I am confused....and your comments made me even more confused now

I was about to ask the same thing Cumeri.
It says wait time...
So maybe it means that the time inbetween spells? If thats the case Im ok with that - as its already works like that - this may just mean a change in the length of time inbetween spells.
***EDIT***
Ohhhhhhh!!!!
I thought you were talking about a new update; changing how the spell speed works!
Nevermind then, I know how it works currently :)

Time between skills.
Before that change warriors had piggyback, they used a normal attack and they cast a skill instantly. When trip had 100% weapon damage this was too much.
With that and the "you cant move bug" warriors had good times in beta.

The feature I quoted was already implemented a year ago, Matt.
I guess they are talking about the time inbetween two spells.
When you use a slow weapon the time between normal attacks is 3,5 sec.
If you are mage or an archer it would mean you have to wait 3,5 sec/3 =1,17 sec wait time between two spells. But from my experience the time between casting 2 spells is the same time than between normal attacks, in this example 3,5 sec.

This is how it works:
Spell casting delay is based on two different things:
1. Weapon speed
2. Class
They did some changes to this in that update.
This affected spell casting aswell as common hits.
