If you don't like dying alot than Barbarian is certainly not the class for you. That's life for a barb.
However, Knights don't do as much damage and take longer to level.

TBH, you need to think about the type of role you want to take in the WZ.

If you would rather have a high damage output, excellent movement speed, poorer defense, and excellent lvling ability, you should pick a barb.

if you choose a knight, you will have excellent blocking%, good crowd control and support skills, but abysmal damage.

Knight imo :) knight can be pain to lvl but it can stay longer in wars and are more team oriented.

Just like backe wisely said, you should think what role you wanna play in the WZ. I'm a barb, and a proud one. I love make LOTS of damage, but be aware that if you choose this subclass, you'll die many, many times... :thumb:

Focus on what you wanna do.

I'm a knight, I stay usually in frontline, rushing inside enemies and defending our mages during fort wars.

Barbarians usually charge the enemies and kill them pretty fast. They're not done to break the enemies lines since the get damage. Anyway with "unstoppable madness" they're good also in it... A mixed party of barbarians and knights rushing is really really fun.

At the end... I like shields :D

Unfortunatelly noone can give you one answer, cause it depends on your teammates later and your behaviour in the fight. As a knight I try rather to buff my mates, buff myself and take hits, then knock down/dizzy enemies and leave them to be finished by barbarians. To put it simple, you can't get good defence and make huge hit in one.

It's just a matter of personal taste, some ppl like (and plays best as) high dmg dealers while some is at their best with more defensive classes (i feel alot more at home with defensive classes).

My advice would be to lvl a class to around lvl 40 and get some war experience with it. Then you will probably know if you like the class or not.

Grinding is a pain no matter what class you choose so don't give up because it's hard to lvl up.

Both knight and barbarian can have alot of different setups, find one you like and go for it :)

you did not just suggest lvling to 40 just to decide if you like the class did you? o0

Yes because imo you don't know that much about a class untill you try it at war at a decent lvl. It's a big difference between killing mobs and RvR, someone might like a char vs mobs but hate it in RvR.

Then it depends on why you play the game, sure if someone only play to find items then it's probably best to make a decission based on grinding.

I just got to lvl 11, and chose a Knight, just because it sounds cooler :/
Is a knight really that bad in attack?
