realm chat in the wz was removed because NGD wanted to reduce lag, my question is, does anyone notice any change in lag or is it the same? Myself personally don't

The whole reducing lag story is just a bad excuse to make us players thinking removing the realm chat is a good thing.
That's my opionion.
Atm I lag very bad, but this is normal after updates. Wait a few days and we can say more sure if it realy reduces lag or not.

"maybe" NGD believed it, so I thought a proper feedback would be a way to give the realm chat back if players think that removing the realm chat haven't really helped

For me the lag wanst reduce... in fact it increased for me. Yesterday at 23:00(hour european) the lag was enormous and i couldnt move my pj and i was next to the enemy and i was out of range...

I love to run to a fight to laaaaaaag die, honest its great.
Seriously though, i know NGD are trying their best to fix lag
so hats off to them for that.
The removal of realm chat, it is a good and bad thing. It could have been better
by having a warzone chat once you jump through the gate.
I like the feature of when our forts and castle is under attack we now get an announcement,
as do i approve of the new map showing the war status.
Regarding the choice of where you resurect after you get killed by a realm enemy Brilliant
This will im sure make things a lot easier especially for the lowers levels who dont
want to be save camped
(unless your stupid enough to press wrong button and have a long walk back like i did)
I wont comment of the implementation of the backwards movement too much
as it has been covered. Suffice to say for all mages - mindpush is now a useless
spell, i could make a long list about this but it would be inappropriate to do so
on this thread.
Im sorry for going a little off topic here but i was too lazy to start a new thread
regarding the whole of the update

You will need to wait a few days to get any real statistics on whether or not removing the realm chat reduces lag. Any observations done now are m00t because everyone knows the server load after updates is much higher than usual.

I agree with Ink in that it could have been handled differently. Why not just post the general chat all the time and if someone wants to address the whole realm they have to use a command? Eg...type 'Hi Inkster' and only those in the general area see it. Type '/public Verdes PP' and it's seen by all the realm in a different color text. Would this accomplish what Ngd is trying to accompish or is it the same problem in disguise. I ask this as a layman. :looking:

The actual lag when running around and pveing is much reduced. However, when enemies come into visual range there is still an IMMENSE screen freeze/FPS drop off.
It is not uncommon for this to last longer than the entire duration of SOTW.

are two different things, the things you mentioned in the first quote (or I think it is) is the lag that the realm chat is supposed to lower, the connection between server and client to be faster, not your fps.

There is no way that this would make the server lag more, that's for sure. It's just a matter of whether it's a significant difference.
Since I've been on Horus I have no basis for comparison personally.

The removal of the realm chat causes more "grouping" behaviour. We're now a lot at fort wars, it's nice, but indeed the lag gets worse... so worse that you won't see me at fort wars when it involves too much people.

If there is reduction in lag it's because there are less players on RA, if anything. I was at a couple big fort wars yesterday, and they were just as unplayable as ever.
Hunting and group fighting is largely lag free now though.

Hi Community,
Just to make you remember, Lag wasn't the only reason for the Realm Chat removal. One of the most important reasons was the improvement of the War Zone as a dangerous, spacious and surprising place.

Regards,
So surprising you dont even hear about the dangers like "1000 rojos pp" and so on ;) and Youre not likely to get help soon if nobodys near your actual position

Yep, I agree on that, I see no difference in lag but a major difference in WZ. I love it.
