View Full Version : Which race makes the best Knight?

I was thinking that the goat-like race would be good because they have the most health, but I realize that they can't wear shoes or helmets... Would it be wise to choose another race because of this? Or does it not really matter?

No race can wear shoes, the leggings covers the whole legs and feet.
I would say either Dwarf or Utghar as Knight class.

Wow, fast reply. :) I'd like to make an Utghar, but since they can't wear helmets, would it hinder them in tanking?

But protection is overrated. It wont help you against those 3-4k SC hits anyway.

And i always panic when i see a chargin goat, specialy barb ones. They look scary, and with those 4k+ hp i know i dont have an easy combat ahead.

Anyway, if you are only looking at the stats, the go with a dwarf.

I was going to make an Utghar with 40 con, but now that I think about it, leveling will be a HUGE pain in the neck... I guess I'll either try to find a friend that'll level with me, or make a dwarf and give him 35 strength.

strenght isnt important for knights. and 4k hp+ on a warior isnt a big deal, 5k+ is a big deal.

If I had to do it again, I would personally make another Dwarf Knight and give him +5 Intelligence.

Mana tends to be the biggest obstacle for Knights, as they already have plenty of hit points and Strength won't increase your offensive damage all that much to be worth the initial 5 points.

I also did the math and found that in general, Dwarves probably make better Knights than Utghars. The helm tends to be your second largest source of armor points, next to the Breastplate.

Hope this helps. :)

Regards.

Terrible mistake, dont put 5 in intelligence, put it to constitution, there is never "plenty" of HP. Dwarves are the best knights, for sure. And if u get a helm with const bonus, you are better than any Utghar.

I thought the shield is the most important after the breastplate.

There's a big minus for Utghar knights, no helm = one less item with a possible bonus.

It's not that hard to get 5000 or more hp as a Dwarf knight. Dwarfs are harder for enemies and allied conjurers to target while Utghars are really easy to target, just choose what you prefer ;)

Dwarves are extremely hard to pick out in a big fight, and can hide behind uncut grass. IMO they really have an unfair advantage over all other races

Like said 1000 times before, it's also harder for conjurers to select them.

Which has absolutely no impact when conjurers arent present. And when 20 enemy and only one friendly conj are trying to click on a dwarf the enemy is FAR more disadvantaged than the lone conj. A dwarf hunter can hide totally INSIDE of many pets, making him absolutely impossible to select.

Nice try, but that dog don't hunt.

You was bragging in another topic that you killed a hunter by hiding in his pet. So you can do it too.

By explaining the drawbacks of a big pet i was "bragging"?

No.

I used line of sight restrictions to hide from her view using the pet. From other angles i could still be targeted. A dwarf can hide INSIDE the pet so his Char is not visible from any side or angle.

New guy, pick a dwarf, they have an obvious advantage- they're tiny, and very hard to see/select.

Imo its Dark Elf warriors, Knight alwys have a natuarlly higher contitution, and it takes alot of work to get even another 1k HP on yourself, which it can be uselss in most situations anyway.

On my barbarian I hunted down Contsitution drops and eventually I got a +17 Const bonus altogether, what good was it for anyway, I was still shot down easily in fort wars. I was mad because Barbarians have good damage tanking spells, but its not enough sometimes.

I started a Dark Elf knight now in Horus, and I am very impressed, I put my points into Strength giving me 35 Strength starting out. Now atm I have 76 Strength and 61 Const at level 26, my barbarian at 45 has 92 Strength and 81 Const.

When my Knight reaches my barbarian's level I will have both more HP and deal more damage. Right now my knight already hits higher than lvl 30 barbarians, and can take more damage than them.

Glad ive corrected my mistakes...

P.S. Sorry keyobard messed up

Not for Dark Elves, faster mana regen.

But how can a dwarf hunter fight while standing in his pet? A pet is moving and an archer can't attack while moving. And if they still developed the skill to hide in a running pet you could also consider killing the pet first, like many non-barb/warlock classes do.

If the target is over 25m away the pet does not attack. The dwarf hunter can stand inside his pet and attack, and not be attacked.

Obviously being 3 feet tall with no drawbacks like reduced speed or stats is a huge, huge advantage.

Half Elf, Skerlic or Nordo are the best class...either put points into const or strenght...

On the rankings we're Skelics for some reason.

In game we're "Esquelio's."

I prefer dwarfs for knights. They have good strength and constitution.
