Hello there, new to this game

I saw a few youtube videos and saw the looks of this game and it looked awsome (It reminds me of the old EQ looking games I only got to play like a couple days of). I'm just wanting to know what is what's in peoples opinions the best realm to pick for beginer's(pardon if I misspell not my forte.) Plus any tips on picking classes and what to keep in mind. Plus wishing to meet some people to be friends with in this game so I don't feel lonely.

You´ll be fine in any relam, just toss a coin (a 3 sided coin? hmm, maybe a dice then) and get to playing, you´ll find all kinds of people in each relam.

Class pick? hmm kinda tough when you´ve got no idea... think of how you´d like to play... have you played other mmos, and if so, what class was your favorite? just asking this not to make another loong post about classes. There are plenty arround these forums, I encourage you to use the search tool :)

What to keep in mind... well... I´d say keep a close eye to your gold. Try grinding without armor to begin with (i know, it sucks, but it´s an excellent way to train yourself and you don´t waste gold repairing your armor), then do a lot of quests, they´ll help a lot with leveling and gaining gold wich you might need later. If i´m not mistaken, a lvl 50 set of armor + a weapon costs about a million and a half gold coins so save up. War is also pretty damn expensive these days.

But don´t worry about that too much, just keep it in mind.

Next, use the command /reset_powers. Type it in any chat tab at any time and it´ll allow you to reassign your skill and mastery points (you´ll actually have to go to the trainer for that part) so that you can try every possible skill setup. Keep in mind though, that this is a dev command that remained in the game for balance issues, a lot of incomplete and malfunctioning skills and the lack of an actual interface for it. It won´t be free forever.

Well conjurers (healing and support class) are not too complicated. They got some really neat defences, healing, mana, barrier and spell resistance auras, buffs heals, a lot of protection spells, etc etc, you know, classic stuff. Oh and they can also summon demons. Warlocks can steal it from you though :P

Archer subclasses however, go a little farther from the classic defensive/offensive specialisations. Luckily the topic has been extensively discussed all arround the forums (see links below)

Based upon your preferences I would recommend making both a Conjuror and a Hunter.

The Conjuror is the fastest class to level, so dedicate all of your time to getting them to warzone level (LV30 or so is enough for this class), that way you can already start to participate in PvP and realm vs. realm battles. Then, level a Hunter on the side since eventually you will want to actually fight some instead of just supporting others. Conjurors are a support class and thus are not meant for fighting.

Alternatively, Marksman or Barbarian are also good choices if you want to level fast, but only if you like dealing damage. However, Knights are very slow to level and Warlocks are currently suffering from balance issues.

Use 'H' once ingame to avoid silly questions ;) dont hesitate to ask anything you might want to know, but not because of being lazy not to read files they implemented only few weeks ago :o)

Best use 'H' while sitting (INSERT Button) and recovering mana + health faster.

But you can have a look around at lower lvls.
