please I wish NGD would stop ignoring the fact that the big mmo websites are the key to raising the community level here, I challenge NGD to put something on mmosite.com and I bet you guys we would have 2k + ppl registered by the night of. Please the thread in no way is meant to be taken negativily I just want you guys to at least consider doing it, you've yet to do it yet, I can promise you thousands of players loged on at all times if you put a simple ad or do a interview or just get on mmosite's list I know your on mmorpg.com, but more people cruise mmosite looking for new games, please do it. If you guys wont do it, I'll do it myself I 'll go over there right now and spark a thread or something!

RO is also a featured game (http://feature.mmosite.com/content/2006-11-27/20061127183142064,1.shtml) on mmosite. The statement that RO has not been advertised on mmosite.com or mmorpg.com is incorrect.

I think the point you are trying to make is this: why isn't there a huge advertising push in the English-language game media? (like WoW, where you see that same ad on every game page you look at.)

In the English-language market, RO is currently a niche game providing RvR combat with a premium content financing model (and native Linux clients to the 0.00001% of users :) ). Can the game eventually scale to the size of Runescape or WoW? Is that even NGD's objective? (WoW killers fail almost every month -- failed MMORPG's kill companies. But there's plenty of space for what is unique).

Remember that Runescape got to 7 million users (6 million free, 1 million paying) with almost no advertising and zero visibility in the game press. That was over ten years of course. Word of mouth works wonders.

I'm so happy to see that finally people are being positive and agreeing with me instead of making excuses for NGD about the small community, I love NGD, but I feel as if they are not taking the proper precautions to promote Regnum on the big English sites.This is the thing, advertising is not going to kill this game, that makes no sense and is a stupid excuse, like my friend just said they servers are usually always under 1000 people at any given time, that usually a sign of a dead mmo, good thing Regnum has a pretty strong small community, but I don't think it fair that we have this new nice english server and yet no ads where put up to promote it anywhere on the two biggest english sites. Listen we are not trying to compete with WoW or Runescape, we just want our community to grow a little, if more people knew about Regnum, more would play, I have played many free games with pvp and none, i mean none compare to Regnum or NGD great services they provide here, NGD in my opinion are a top notch company as far as quality, they just need someone to do some marketing, if I was apart of NGD i would go over to one of the two bigger sites and do a interview with them right now, I love you guys and I just want to see you go far. You have a the best kept secret here a defiantly a free 2 play killer:gun_bandana:, please lets give more people the opportunity to experience just a great game.

P.S. the little bit of info MMOSITE needs to be moved to there main game list, foreign or not the game promotes a English community therefore it needs to advertised that way on these site, I know our community has lots of people from different countries, but I can assure you thousands more if we do some main stream ads on one of the two sites, they don't even have to be big, or if you do a interview on mmorpg, alot of games do this when they have updates, oooooooohhhh, i get it maybe you guys are waiting until "invasion", is that your plan? You sneaky lil' Devils, that would be a great idea by the way. After invasion you do a interview with either site and a add on the other.

I could see the ads know, they would say "INVASION IS COMING"

Each server can only hold around 1100 players, and it becomes laggy at around 700 - 800.

First I want to thank you for your nice compliments about our game.

There is just one thing that you are not taking into account? do you know how expensive is to advertise in those sites you are mentioning?

Regnum is still not making enough money per new registration to be able to "purchase" users through Internet advertisement, this situation will hopefully change as we add more interesting premium options we think...

Its not just about bringing hundreds of thousands of players but about being able to sustain the game...

We are working on deals to improve this... we know all about MMORPG.com, ONRPG and MMOSITE.

If you want to help us out, please go, register in those sites and talk well about our game, post user reviews, upload screenshots, do something! :)

Agreed. The performance is already pretty marginal now. The last thing this game needs is a massive influx of new players, at least not on RA.

I quite like the small organised fights on Horus as opposed to the aura,area zergs on RA, But the game needs players to survive ;)

The game is doing better every month and we don't think its going to die anytime soon! :) we are still strugling to get the minimum required revenue per user to be self sustainable. We are investing all of our profit from our second project (wich is a work for hire) into Regnum's development (to make it better)

We are still not able to afford doing advertising, we should be able to do it in the future though.

In the meantime we are negotiating some deals to promote the game, you will have news about this soon (there must be a lot of reasons for us to open Horus dont you think? :) )
