View Full Version : Forum posters: A plea for reason

Hi all,

I would like to ask everyone to please rethink the content of your posts from now on.

The general direction that the forums have been going in for the last half year or so is downhill. Just because we have a moderator does not mean it is OK to be posting the kind of content that I have been seeing lately.

I know many of you are frustrated, with the game, with each other, but this is not the way to go about things. The bans being issued should have taught posters a lesson by now, but it seems that these actions continue.

Please listen to this plea before you get the forums shut down for all of us. If the situation becomes too bad, and Kailer is unable to keep up with the overhead, I have no doubt that NGD would consider such a drastic move.

Rethink your actions for the good of everyone, not just yourself.

Regards,

People just do the things they do because it is who they are. No matter what reasoning others do, it is not enough (as I see it) to encourage good behavior. Even if NGD gives us the shock of our lives and shut down the forums, I bet it will not change the attitude of most, that such an action is most referred to.

Banning is not enough. Even shutting down wouldn't be. I've lost hope.

But I wish the luck of the above message to reach out.

/me scowls at every balance forum ever and how no matter the topic it allways turns into a debate on either SC or SOTW...

or valorius.

or valorius and sotw + sc..

jk :) but seriously though ive seen alot of posts where people just post because another member did, and often serves no purpose other than to disagree or insult, even if theyve contradicted themselves about the topic in the past. its akin to cyber stalking, if you dont like the person or his/her views, throw em on ignore, or dont read the topic they are active in..dont just follow them around and make a nuisance of yourself that the mods have to clean up after in the end.

i think they do need more moderation, and more severe punishments for flaming/trolling/personal insults to members though.

How about making one thread which is *very losely* moderated so that everybody can put his/her personal insults there instead of in other threads?

theres an old saying im sure everyones familiar with..if you have nothing good to say, dont say it at all.

Yeah, please behave yourselves a bit! Sometimes I've got the feeling people just post to insult someone. Please only post when you've got something useful (and constructive) to say, but don't just flame.

So true. Actually I told somebody in pm "A shut mouth catches no flies" (Thx to http://dict.leo.org/ boosting my english vocabulary :D) just shortly before he got permabanned T_T.
