View Full Version : Weapon hitspeed
How big precentage diference is it between very fast, fast, medium, slow and very slow?
I uses a medium sword as a Barbarian, but with Thirst of Blood at lvl 4 (12% faster hitrate) how much closer to a fast weapon do I come?

I'd swear that is 25%.
So if u have that 12% bonus, u'd need a 13% more to be a fast sword, but anyway, if Im not wrong, there's a "fast-medium" with that 12% :p

something like that, i think its +25% for each weapond speed.
1.7 for fast
2.1 for medium
2.7 for slow
3.3 for very slow
meaning you would need a 20% bonus to go from medium to fast.
thnx, i just wish to hae thirst for bloof lvl 5 now :D

For bows, Fast ones are just like medium ones but if you stay still you can piggy back some shots (it looks a bit random, like everything in the game).
PS: Medium sword/axe with TFB lvl 4 is very interesting, if you level up one of the knock down powers you can have a good setup :)

That's wrong, I know that slow is 3.5 seconds, at least on bows. But it's a long time since I last checked to be honest.

You cant be serious, fast is not even close to 0.5, and medium is much slower than 1.5.
Fast bows are an exception and the only inconsistent behavior I have seen between classes.
I get very close result from all classes and weapon speeds, ranged attacks could possibly be a bit more inconsistent than melee.

Actually i think it is fairly accurate, there is no server load to speak of on Amun it could be slightly faster than on RA, it should allow less interference than on a live server, other possibilities would be that NGD was meddling with something, which would be very unfortunate.
Tonight on RA my attack speed is more like 3.1 both with a slow slashing weapon and a slow bow.

Had an other look at it on RA this morning
It seems to be roughly 0.5-0.7 between each weapon speed starting at 1.7-1.9 for fast ranging to 3.6-3.8 for very slow.
1.8 fast
2.4 medium
3.1 slow
3.7 very slow
Clocking these speeds its almost always +/- 0.1 from these values, except slow staff for mages seemed to be even more inconsistent that any other weapon.
These results i got from hunter, warlock and barbarian, I didnt test fast bows for hunters for obvious reasons.
If this is more correct, there is no set percentage between weapon levels.

i use thirst for blood(4) and a medium axe with 5% attack speed, and fighting against a fast mob (lion) i get something like this
my attack
mob attack
mob attack
my attack
my attack
mob attack
seems like a fast attack, but measure it with a clock is pretty hard, since u attack twice in a swing and then u have to wait.
i think that the best way to control the attack speed is using a damage per second skill, like tear apart or using regenerate allied. but i did not get the chance to do this tests.

it's old data but I remember it well and this is for staves, you might notice a different because attack speed is bugged and sometimes laggy, and don't count on amun to test such things, you'll know why some day XD. it's also quite bugged

Im pretty sure you are mistaken, 0.5s would be incredibly fast.
There would be page after page of whines about if it ever were true!

that's why I say staves, and old data.

Shit I just noticed, the first results i posted was my attack speed with tfb active.
The strange part is why they illustrate the supposed +25% difference between attack speeds better than without any buffs.
