A very simple question, yet, the most that could leave us wondering our minds. Who could really win, a Knight, or a Barbarian.

Be prepared to read a decently lengthy paragraph, if not, please stretch your eyes for 5 minutes, and resume.

Lets spread it all out and get into details. First, Knights. They start out with the most constitution. But in the beginning, add more. For Barbarians, you start out with the most strength. But in the beginning, add more. This leaves it to a hard question at this point, still. More strength, or higher constitution? Anyways, now you pick your subclass. Say you pick Knight. Would you rather have a lot of constitution, the most in the game, and so much defense, that it may seem impossible to bring you down, plus with all those added buffs that STILL help you become even more invincible? Or would you rather become a Barbarian, with so much strength and so much capability you could 1 hit things you couldn't even imagine. Would you want all of that strength, and better yet, you even have all of those buffs to even boost up your strength EVEN MORE! Those, are the upsides. Now to the downsides. Barbarians, although strong, lack hp compared to Knights. They also, lack defense, and there rate of speed for strong weapons are slow compared to Knights, and they also can have their hp lowered easily when killing mobs if not killing things are done right. Knights, in the other hand, lack strength, and they may not be as fun to level, plus it may seem longer to kill things in the short run.

Now, a short overview.
Barbarians:
(High Damage)
Good-High strength/hit dmg, fast leveling in the short run.
Bad-May have to rest a lot, possibly make it bad for the long run, not as much hp as Knights and not as much defense.

Knights:
(High Defense and Health)
Good-Decent hit damage, pretty good leveling since you don't have to rest often, high constitution and high defense.
Bad-Lacks strength and hit damage, leveling could turn out slow if not done right.

You choose:
Knight or Barbarian?
Who could REALLY win, at their best?
It's up to you to decide =P.

Side note:
Please back up your reasons =P.

Its all on luck, if you dont block/evade none you lose, if block/evade is on your side, you win. If your a knight. Unless the barb is having a really bad day.

Thanks.
Of course, not everything is on luck though O_o.

I must've tested this with Red Star 10000 times,

He says Barbs are better, and I agree, the knight is suppossed to be a tank, but its just a lottery machine of blocks,

If the Knight blocks the right things - he will win, depending on his setup.
The opponent I fear the most in PvP is a Spear/Blunt/Shield Knight.

Ofcourse, a Knight using several magnifications and SC can be deadly too, but then it's completely up to what he will block or not - because one MS can more or less wipe his chances to win.

To the poster:

You must also understand that the difference between the both subclasses are way more than just more strength/more const on either side.
The way they play and their skilltrees are so separated, like Conjurers and Warlocks.

My barb however has got 4510 hp, that's around what a lvl 50 knight without good drops would have.
Instead I have only 99 strength, which still allows for some nasty normal hits (600-800 range without other buffs than Brutal Impacts) and in combination with this I use a very, very nice hammer with +4% attackspeed together with Thirst For Blood lvl 4 (+12% attackspeed).

So I can still do much damage over time, even while I am not one of all the SC monkeys, perhaps even more damage over time.
For me this is a very good hybrid.

I agree with Znurre, i'm playing a blunt barbarian too. My HP are only 3900 but it allows me to resist quite well with caution level 4 and frenzy lvl 5. Moreover my armor set is good or very good against pierce (the dmg i believe to be the most common). Generally Archers or mages in fights aren't a problem (maybe 1vs1 PvP it can be but not in real fight situations). With warriors it's a bit trickier and way more funny generally.

In the end I tend to prefer my barb to my archers, however Archer can be play really easily solo, barb is a bit harder.

Sc knights will get a big disadvantage because of the latest update were warriors can cancel spells the same way as mages and archers.
No more exploiting the fact that SC always hit other warriors and they have knock and immobilize the same way as everyone else.

From my point of view if a barbarian wants an easy fight he cast unstoppable madness and tfb and hope he wont get Mind Squashed, if not the fight will be easy probably something like 90% to 10% in favor for the barbarian
If knight MS hits it be about 70% to 30% in favor for the knight depending a bit on how 'lame' the barb is willing to be.

So on average it’s a very even fight, but the barb can always run away if it gets too bad.

Assuming that both have a similar setup (all 3 weapons used frequently), the same quality of items and the same rings/amulets, whoever's mind squash succeeds first wins :p

From my experience it's not the case. I had few PvP with Znurre and Mattdoesrock. We all three have (or used to) blunt setup with TFB and Unstoppable. Znurre might have a best attack speed and HP than us but takes more damage than us. I believe I'm the one that does the highest normal hits (from what I've seen in my log). And well Matt has a better const than me.

But in the end who wins is determined by who lands the more hits and who moves better than the other. Mindsquasher helps, but it's not everything.
