I see a lot of buffs and items that give a bonus "to hit" but I'm a bit confused as to exactly what this means. I mean, we never actually miss in this game, we just hit, or it is evaded, resisted or blocked. I have a spell that give +50% "To Hit" but it doesn't seem to have any noticeable effect at reducing evades, resists or blocks. Can someone explain this to someone who is a beginner with an offensive class?

1) it only effect normal hits.
2) i guess it increases your hit chance, check your character sheet.
meaning it will effect your opponents evade (and 'regular' block) chance
evasion*100 / hit chance = evade chance
With spells it works the same way, only now its spell focus instead of hit chance and also resist comes into play.

if u wanna use such spells - use it. but don't put any points in them (they are not worth it - as well as putting points in +concentration skills).

Sorry, yes, I mean Hit Chance. So if I'm understanding what people are saying, if you have a higher Hit Chance, your opponent will not Evade, Resist of Block as much?

yep, but it only counts on normal hits but absolute resist/evade/block buffs is not affected, neither is spell focus.

Yes theoretically they would evade less.
Say you have 340 HC and you opponent has 60 evasion, thats 17-18% evade chance.
If you increase your hit chance with 50% (i dont know if only work on you base HC or not) but make it simple say its now 510 HC, they now have 11-12% evade chance.
But this is RO!
+50% HC buff, is a 5-7% difference on your opponents evade chance
meaning it is quite useless. :tsk_tsk:

Search in Spanish threads about evasion with post by megrim
and you should find it.
I think it also been quoted a few times in the English section.
I dont know nothing about the critical hit chance
it based on concentration and it was modified (increased) a half year ago.
As for critical hit buffs i suppose they work, but they always been considered weak and possibly bugged, at least for warriors.
Recently NGD supposedly fixed martial defence so i suppose it should work, since that is crit hit debuff for warriors target
.

i made an utghar barbarian, and gave my 5 points to concentration. in addition i am wearing rings that give concentration. is this a waste? after reading this post, i see someone saying concentration influences crits, and another saying there is no point. is the concentration stat broken or non functioning? or does it not give as much benefit as folks want?

Well the damage increase from main stat is fairly low especially for barbarians
(dps wise it seems to be equal or even lower for slow and very slow weapons and barbs make quite few hits with more damage the extra boost from 5 point is insignificant).
Both stats increase spell focus and hit chance a bit.
I also picked concentration before the changes to main attributes
and i never been disappointed.
Either way attribute/stat points are overrated no need to worry about it.
