So long as everyone knows your together it shouldent matter if you are technicaly married in game or not :P

eg most people know about Moo+Lunar, and Taiwez+Jayne ;)

If it means a lot though just exchange some sort of ring :P

Well, you can have your clan leader perform the ceremony and exchange DS-rings. It won't show up in the game, but it would at least be kinda official :)

Well, you could have a great ceremony where the two of you, perhaps with some financial support, could start a clan called "Married couple" with ranks such as "Husband" and "Wife", or something similar. Also, you could post pictures on the forum and have a ceremony in IRC, just to make sure. :clapping5365:

But, no, you can't get married in-game - even if there are lots of couples in the game.

On Muspell it usually happens this way:

The 2 people that want to marry get a "priest" (for example a conjurer they both like or a clan leader with some sort of dignity ;). They announce that they want to marry and invite all their friends to a special place they like. In Syrtis they often used Shanarid Castle, but also Places like the Pavillion and in former Times the Gamemaster-Island. (In former Times Gamemasters did the Ceremonies, but then there were too much of it and they quit playing with us. ;)

The people that want to marry put on beautiful clothes. I often saw the white invitation tunic on mages and white hats etc. and the most beautiful armour for warriors. Then in the castle they play the traditional wedding ceremony, with all parts of it, even exchancing rings. *g* (Screen that!) And all their friends watch when they kiss in the end.

In former Times most of the couples developed a family name both of them wear and both changed to that extendet name, for example "luna strongheart" and "urgar strongheart". You can still do that by using namechanging scrolls, but it is expensive now. (Well, weddings are always expensive.)

A modern way to do it which i personally like better is to keep you original name and just change you clan rank. There are many people in Muspell that have ranks like "Luna's Husband" or "Urgar's Wife" or "XY's Love".

But be carefully if you choose people from other realms as partners: Many people do not like that. You could face some dissing and be left alone by your realm. And there are always wedding crashers that will come and try to kill your love. ;) And btw., think about possible children, like f.e. dark elves with blue fur... So i suggest some contraceptives in these cases... ;)

Well, that would change with marriage? o.O I'm jealous too sometimes but i do not think marriage would change anything. But if you love the Orc more, maybe you could tame him and marry him? (That could cause problems... but you could try it... ;-))

Add marriage, but add negative bonuses on some stats (example: hit chance) if you cheat your wife/husband, or if one partner from relationship is mad on other one etc. :D social life, sort things out if you want to be fully focused on your role of "hero" ^^ (even heroes have problems ;) )

In my expirience, divorce also lowering your skills via drinkig, drugs, prozac and so on.

Cheating must give positive bonus. negative bonus you'll get if your wife/husband find your cheats.

I think AwD did one, and some other elfs did one at Shaana one time. I remember the Shaana real well because it was a night we had an assload of people on.

Marriage with a title eh?
I remember it was some kind of marrige ranks in Perfect World.
It costed 30 dollars each or something. So 30 dollars for the wife to pay, and 30 dollars for the husband to pay.
You got a small weapon package of some sort, for 30 US dollars...
And yeah, of course those ranks where it said ''Husband of XXXX'' and ''Wife of XXXX'' or something like that.
I find this useless, but sure....

Still, I remember when 2 Ignis married, we were in the Ignis church in Medenet and Surak came to watch.
We didn't need any marriage package then and I don't think we will need it now or later.

1. A large number of the player base is male.
2. This isn't the sims
3. It is a war/holiday/rock finding game

I will play along though here are your items:

Ring of the Husband:

+10 to Bragging and BS stories
Character always has 5% necro due to being fatigued all the time
-3 to concentration due to constant nagging
+3 to constitution due to adapting to harsh environment
-5% to damage due to wife taking your good weapon
Every 100 XP you lose hair and the remaining hair gets grey until it all falls out

Ring of the Wife

+3 Concentration due to husbands failure making your nagging more rapid and point shot
-3 Constitution due to sitting on couch all day watching soap operas
+10 to Gossip and BS stories
Character never gets necro due to not really working hard enough to earn any
+5% damage because you took your husbands good weapon
Every 100 XP your boobs sag until they hit your waist line

I know its a stereotypical viewpoint but what the hell else we gonna base it off of? :devil:

lol very funny. I don't care if there is marriage but I will have to say no because i would rather have other features instead.
