I just want to know, how many of you use your mouse to cast your spells? i've talked to about 4 or 5 people, they all do it. i've never used my mouse, i've always used the shortcut keys. so now i've grown curious, am i the only one?

I spoke with some people in my clan about it a long time ago and I think we all basically did something like this:

F1-F4 and 1-5 (or 1-4 or 1-6) with keyboard and the rest with the mouse.

That is: I use keyboard as long as I can reach the buttons, and then I use the mouse. Of course there are exceptions, too.

I had to learn how to play like a right-handed. Tho I do everything else in RL just like a left-handed would. Look what NGD made me do XD
I can prove this because RO is the only MMO I have played, whitch is the only reason I have learned to play like a right-handed >.<

I use both. Most of the time I use the keyboard, but on some spells that are close to other sensitive spells (the spell next to Sanctuary and Steel Skin in my bar for example) I try to use the mouse.

I pretty much converted to mouse click, the game is relatively slow so I don’t feel its much of disadvantage. Besides it makes target switching and spell bar toggling a little easier for me.

I use my left hand on keys W A S D for movement
I use F to show all realm allies
I use E for auto run
Main attack skills are on 1 2 3 4 [f1] [f2]
Items are on [f3]
Buffs are all on 1 2 3 4 [f4]

I click skills 6 7 8 9 10 with the mouse
I click spell book side bar with the mouse

Anywho, I used mouse, then when I switched to playing on my laptop I use the keys because they are so close to each other. I never used WASD before the changes,

I think it's faster like this. But I think we really need a way to costumize the UI of Regnum a bit. It would also be nice to define hotkeys for spells to some unused letters. But then they would have to implement a check whether the chat bar has focus or not.

i dont use f keys, have them binded to my mouse buttons.

use the mouse for clicking the spell bar, since im a righty, i use the arrow keys, wouldnt be feasible to use wasd and the number and more importantly f1-4 keys, and this is a crap laptop design, the buttons are stiff, small and i rarely hit the right one anyways.

By the way, I'm not sure, but I think it's possible to use Numlock for the spells.

Im a clicker.. :) My right hand for my mouse, left to use arrow keys. On a laptop..Gawyn whinges at me to use the keys, cos using the touch pad is a pain in the arse :)

I must be one of the weird oddballs that use keyboard only. The only time I activate an icon on my spell tab with the mouse pointer is if I'm typing in chat. Having gorilla-hands helps.:)

Both. Since mouse is mostly pointing device for me i use mouse for casting when i have to often select different enemies (fort wars mostly) if i'm stuck with one enemy for longer time i move my right hand to numpad. I wish i could assign other keys for bar switching, cause Fs' are VERY inconvenient. Two keys for circulating bars would be awesome.

Space. Found it good and (I think) ergonomically better than V. Tab would probably occupy my left hand even more.

OT: I should play NwN more some day.. or perhaps just BG (1 and 2).

And medium mouse wheel to change F1-F4 bars... If you hover the mouse over the bar, you can do it. Otherwise it zooms in/out the screen.

Me too, i use arrow keys and i assigned mouse wheel to do F1 / F2 to get rid of the zooming and not have to bother with marker position.
Only my warlock use a little more than 20 slots so no real use for f3 and f4 otherwise.

I use my mouse for everything. RO keyboard shortcuts aren't fully customizable, making WASD almost unusable for the french AZERTY (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/c/ca/Azerty_fr.svg/800px-Azerty_fr.svg.png) keyboard layout. And using arrows keys + F1-F4 would be hell :crying1:

Using both here. WASD for movement, Q = autorun, then I use keyboard for skills 1-6. (Either I have longer fingers than some, or it's my piano training, but hitting 6 in WASD position is no biggy for me) For 7-0, I usually mouse 'em.

F1-F4, I just punch the key as well, but then, I like the zoom on the mouse wheel. :P
