Is it me, or is it that your FPS drops low randomly now. On horus and Ra, i've noticed my fps being low, even when i just logged on. I've asked some of my clan mates and they have said this was the issue for them also.

FPS are going crazy for me as well.
I am playing on lowest settings and I have framerates of ~30 FPS which is of course playable. In wars they drop significantly and when I am running alone somewhere they go up to 100 and more.
But it's way to less for my system on lowest settings I think. I can even play Gothic 3 with better results on my system.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+
2GB Ram
Nvidia 8600GTS
Ubuntu 9.10

I have exactly the same problem :(
As long as I am alone, I have about 70-100 fps. But if an enemy is near to me, they go down to 15-20 and my ping gets red :/
ATM its not possible for me to play...
my PC:
Acer TM 5530
AMD Turion X2 2.2GHz
3GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 3200
Windows Vista Business
P.S.:
Normally, I play on Niflheim (German Server)
P.P.S.: sry, but my English isnt the best ^^

I used to get mid 30's fps most of the time, now I only get that if no one else is around for miles, normaly around 16 now and 10 or less in war :/
My PC:
some shit :)
Windows: nice fps amount, but occasional freezes happen (especially if some barb cast Onsl or Owth in mass).
Linux: fps around 30, but it s going much smooth somehow.
I'm getting bad FPS too.....but it's dropping to 20 or so. I think it's a powermizer issue on my end - and Nvidia's powermizer management is broken for a long time now.

Hmm this is interesting, im Nvidia user too...
Maybe it is a problem only with Nvidia cards? Can others say whether they use Nvidia cards?

I have good FPS i think : around 60
Linux ubuntu 9.04
Dual core 2ghz 32 bits
Nvidia 8500
2Gb ram
if your range visibility is big, yes you lost lot of FPS

The issue with powermizer will only affect those who run on a laptop. I have a heavy-duty laptop which I game on. Basically, NVIDIA's temp management says "F-U" to whatever you tell powermizer to run and drops performance down. This causes about a 30%-50% drop in FPS in the game.

aha, I run it on a laptop too ! Think a cooling pad would help?
u can try but not likely...

I dont think its a problem with NVIDIA ;)
I am using ATI, and i play other games (Gothic III, Oblivion, BF2) without any troubles...
And the problems i have with Regnum appeared with the last update....

I am playing without shaders for so long now that when i switch them on for a little - after a game or driver update, to check for improvements - I feel like getting ADS from the sensory overflow.
FPS decrease peu-a-peu till i actually get freezes for some seconds - and i start with 120 fps (nvidia 7900gt/AMD X2 4200+).
However, since they are working on an entirely new engine I have doubts the code of the current one will be improved much anymore.

I've not noticed any type of FPS drop because of an update.
I guess it's a Linux issue.

Yea... if you fight in a fort war with lots of people.. fps often will not reset.
(stays low)
Just relog......

I recall having the same poor FPS rate months ago, and I felt shitty because I spent like 30 dollars or so buying Ximerin... You want to know what was I told by one of the Developers/Moderators? That it was my computer, that my 266 MHz Bus could not play games for sh1t....
Their game has the potential ot be great, but I get the feeling that what NGD are lacking right now is not good game designers, good vision, or even good game art, at full graphics it looks pretty cool, but their technical department...
ANYWAYS, you want to know how I solved the problem? I paid 19.99 for Guild Wars, which is very playable at full graphics, 1440x900 resolution =)

The game is playable for me, but I like to have it look, I dunno, like other games? This is what I get when I auto-detect my graphic settings:
http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo238/100PercentRatedR/Beztytuu-4.jpg
[Note: Anisotropics and Antialiasing are not affected by Auto-Detect, they are manually selected]
And that's reasonable, I run on a pretty nice computer where I can get like ~70 FPS in heavy graphical games like Guild Wars.
OS: Windows Vista
Graphics: nVidia 9200M GS (256MB)
Processor: Intel Pentium Dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00GHz (2 CPU's) 2.00GHz
Memory: 2GB RAM
DxVersion: Direct X10
But when I log on those graphics lag my computer to no end. And if I want to play I have to tune everything down on the lowest possible point, looking back at recordings I did months ago (before 1.0.6) the record rate and FPS were amazing, I just can't believe things are this way now. I actually thought that my graphics card was corrupted too, and the reason Regnum was lagging so badly was due to overheating and graphic corruption, but I went to the store all ready to return my new computer, and the support there tested quite a few games on my computer, and it turns out that everything is fine, its just Regnum.
I hope the new engine makes the game fully enjoyable for me again.

You'll be wasting money imo, I recently did the same thing. I also run on a laptop, and I thought that overheating was the issue like I said above. So I bought a nice cooling pad but there was no difference in Regnum. The things and money someone can spend just to get a game working, sheesh :p
Just wait for the new engine ;)
