If I'm not totally wrong here you have a spy class animated, done and ready to go with couple fixes?:P
Would be nice to know the story behind this ^^

AS far as I know it was inteneded for that to be a class, but it was cut off at some point during development, (and from the looks of Hunter it would be similer, camo... Tracking (spying)... )

i only know one "spy"...
people that are on ignis for example, and join alsius to spy on their plans :)!.

I never went berserk and start waiting my life for this. But tbh, making the archer class "more archery", with out the camo etc and implementing a stealther type class would bring new aspects to the game :)

There was such class in RO. But then NGD removed realm chat (to lower lag - yes lol) so hunters can't inform about enemy movement anymore.

Hello,
Before this turns into a slew of unfounded rumours (Frania, I'm looking at you), here it goes:
- Yes, initially there was the intention to do a Stealth class. No, it never made it due to development constraints and it's not currently on our immediate/future plans.
- Global chat outside the realm (not general chat) was removed because of a design decision, one of the consequences of that decision was a small performance boost on the server but never the main reason. This was explained a thousand times but people took this out of context and of course , the only thing new players hear is "it was removed to reduce lag! Yes, I swear to you I was there when they decided over a tequila shot!".
Also, please consider that 1) Global chat is still inside the realm (so new players can ask for help, etc), and 2) There are War Banners (albeit premium but really cheap) that help people organize on the War Zone.
I'll leave this open so you can continue to discuss of what a Spy class could have been but please try to stay on that topic.

:* I am talking about hunters role in this game which was also spying aka reporting army movement which was ruined cause of lag reduction - removing realm chat. I thought it was obvious for so intelligent guy like you. And don't lie. Look for posts made by NGD crew. It was explained as lag reduction. And about Banners... i would say something not nice.

I see at least three reasons as to why realm chat on Ra is gone. Reducing lag may be one of them, but from how im reading this, its one of the more minor ones. Less spam from noobs makes war zone easier to communicate and with less clutter (on horus we still have people that dont know how to use general tab and want to try to conduct war business in Realm chat. Giving clans a more central role in things (from my perspective) seems to be the most important reason; it forces people to choose a clan (which i dont really like), but by so doing, almost forces you to use teamwork if you want to succeed in warzone.
As for a spy class.
I see:
Trees: Daggers, Dual Wield (daggers only obiviously), Half of the scouting tree (track, camo, etc), ????
Purpose: Stealthy class with limited ranged attacks and melee attack power on par with hunter perhaps. Lots of debuffs, some slow acting DoT (poison). Placeable traps, Scouting (less range ofc, maybe on par level 1 or 2 in scouting tree). Not sure what else.

You didn't had to read that chat. But i was using it (as many others) to give ppl informations about enemy contacts. It was easier to coordinate fights. I know that ppl do the same on Horus. So why we can't do that?

Yes sometimes you do. I see people talking about where we are going to go next, and other things that belong in general chat being spoken about in realm chat....every single day it happens.
Don't misunderstand, i like having realm chat, and at the very least i think that there should be war chat in the warzone, or else hunters get to hunt with impunity, enemy movements dont get tracked as well and overall coordination is lesser. I was just trying to look at it from their point of view and see the reasons why they may have wanted to eliminate realm chat.
I played on Ra a few times on my old char and really missed it. At the very least, a WZ chat would really be helpful, especially during invasion periods.

I couldn't explain it myself better. Performance boost was one of the reasons, I understand that being first on the list could have been interpreted as the main reason but, and I'm correcting ourselves now, it wasn't.
Later on, a lot of users, such as yourself went on explaining to new users that "It was to reduce lag!" failing to mention the other two reasons (spaciousness, teamwork, clans, etc). Unfortunately, what has been perceived as the main reason, it was actually the less important one.
As for the Hunter role in the game, that really is a different subject altogether (that has been discussed already on the balance forum).
Global chat is not coming back but we have plans to improve communication channels in several ways in the future.
Also, I'm closing this thread since the initial topic was answered. The Spy class was planned but unfortunately never made it, I can't tell you if we won't ever put it back in but for now, the answer is no.
