Creatures Suggestions!

\o/ Ohai! It's me again ;P
The thing is - I find Regnum Lore very random, and specially new mounts are out of place for me. So I started to make up creatures who could live in regnum world just like an evolution would scatter around some similarities.

We have some different beetles, hyenas, wolves and lizards, why not more of those? All diversity we have are just names:
Savage wolf, Rabid Wolf, Adult Wolf. They differ only with size. I kinda wish that there would be more and more creatures more adequate to their environment and more merged into the Regnum Lore ;D

So it might be just a childish imagination of mine - I don't expect anything, I just wanted to share with you and NGD some ideas I had \o/ (and what's important - even if there was some miracle and NGD likes the actual designs, please use them! I'd be more than glad!)
Please, tell me what you think and if you like them, I could make more!

Today are mount mashups (untameable imho) :sifflote: All made in crayons so don't expect much art ^^'
They are not redesigns, they are just suggestions for mobs to kill ^^

So this is a Syrtis Lore creature, a wild kind of Valkin's cousin. Definitely more vicious and less chicken-like ;] i think that feathers and beak are adequate loot. They could live only in El-ther or near Eferias and be a high-rate mob.

And this one instead of being a volcanic creature it could just appear in harsh deserts since it's a lizard ;D A four-legged cousin of Preliator, has more spikes so definitely not for a ride. And the spikes and horns are a good loot.

And last but not least, it's a cousin of Benkku. A huge, mammoth-like creature with lots of fur and fat to bear with cold Alsius winters. The fur should be pricey enough for a loot! It could appear in the most freezing parts of Alsius, like near Imperia and in inner icy mountains.

I must say now that the Valarkin's beak design is bothering me. Don't get me wrong, your work is excellent. I just find awkward to ride a bird (I've been traumatized by the Chocobo-like mount, I must say... so my opinion is totally not objective, may you forgive it "^^').
But what mount to choose for Syrtis ? The bird is perfect for its swiftness and lightness though, but I really can't get used to the idea to ride a feathered animal that can be infected by anything... (yeah, traumatized by the Dohsim-quest-that-was-in-Raeraia too :s)

(EDIT : sorry for this part, I was searching for a potential mount to fit Syrtis atmosphere and typing clues to don't forget them. I'll keep them typed, as it can be helpful for another, maybe)
A strange animal that can be mounted. Forests. Lakes. Wind. Green. Bloody beetles. Snakes
(half an hour... pity >.<')
I had in mind something like a deer, a winged deer maybe, a reminder of our forests and prairies.
The idea of a gigantic insect should be worth to think about it, too.

Looking at all Aquantis people around, I think they lack some huge underwater castle that would grow above the water level. They could also keep there some war beasts of their kind, and I think this could be fun, like yeti \o/

Nu, I use water crayons here, photoshop used only to erase some dirt from scanner and brighten or darken some parts

There was also long ago few Inkster's suggestions (I remembered Lizard-like mob).

As for mounts, I think next pack should be Nightmare for Ignis, Unicorn for Syrtis, Wooden horse for Alsius.

What i like the most in these mobs' examples is that they could be really implemented and well fit in current looks of realms. It s not some "unrealistic" mob, like mad cactus charging around, but some decent "shapes". As Lae, I like that Arachid igneo, awesome idea.

(Weren't igneos some kind of humanoid race, very intelligent, ...? And somehow, due to some chemi... dark magic, they became the tarzan-like monsters they are. )

Your aquantis looks great, but not like a new creature, it's a better version of our current aquantis. (They look so peaky and thin, NGD, give them more food! :rale:)

Ps: NGD could make some kind of contest, the best creatures (or weapons or armours or...) get implemented :angel1: (Like those guild wars contests :P)

You could say every heavy and furry animal looks like something that has those features.
I think that this "bantha", my Benkaruk, "Piloswine" from pokemon (as Matt suggested XD) or anything like that was based mostly on Mammoths and Yaks.
Except that only my Benkaruk doesn't have any horns

Love all the mobs and how they fit into the world nicely, would be great to see them around, like the idea of some aquantis castle as well, they have armour and weps so are at least semi-sentient, could be a good event storming a aquantis castle xd

Would love to see mobs like this added, would help break the trap so many mmorpgs fall into with mobs of having very few base types then a million varients of each, savage, adult, rabid, large, giant, boring...

I LOVE the three wild mount ideas. Id like to see the aquantis castle in game too, and maybe some aquantis attack events where they raid a city. btw nice drawings:metal:

Time for new stuff!

This time I was thinking about Creature Bosses for Clan events (in the WarZone). Not like Evendim or Thorkul, more like Rizofag, but still different. They'd be huge, placed in a very special area, spawning very often (like every few hours) but drop rate is small, and the loot not really epic.

Perhaps in their lairs could also happen to be a Hero Corpse (acting like a chest) in wchich you can find the loot always - nice gold for repairs, so it's actually profitable to attack the Leader, and some magna too.

Primeval Sabertooth is from Alsius, obviously. Placed in a cave near Imperia, inside a cliff. Surrounded by many offspring (normal sabertooths), aggressive, so it has to take a while to get there.

It's a kind of Tenax/Cobra hybryd. I think it fits to Shaanarid environment, and it could live in the high, rocky pillars, where corpses and skeletons lie burrowed partially in the sand. Surrounded by many black Cobras it could be a nice challenge.

Also, instead of the corpse, I think there could be a coral Chest.

It's difficult to find variations around the theme of Aquantis (AHHH, Deep Ones attack ! /o/) but you still manage to do it, great work ! :thumb_up:

u know what u should do...make that little ngd blue guy..(dont know his name)

but i always thought itd be so awesome to have him as a super boss (sounds crazy but logical, hes an alien with super advanced technology..he can kick ass i think)

the middle island should be opened again (wasnt there a spaceship there once?) and all realms would be forced to team up on him (of course they would all seem as allies to avoid area spam and promote teamwork and rage kill/rp farming/some noob attacking and a chain reaaction)

he could have a laser beam whoo hoo..and a plasma shield..and sit in his ship an blow us all up.

ok maybe i didnt have coffee yet..

but lovely art as always :) and yes ro needs more MOBS not just BIGGER mobs of mobs we already have (classic mmo laziness, i dont blame ngd but the typical mmo mold they followed) kill skeleton, fight similar but BIGGER skeleton 5 levels later..and so on..

Actually........

An Idea of a huge animated living crab (acting as an elemnt of landscape) and on it, many many other crabs to fight with would live - good one. I'll draw it next time :D

only things i could think of for that aquantis would be maybe something to add a little more flair to him, maybe a shell necklace or some type of design on his armor resembling such,..i dunno :P

i think he looks really good though, and it woulda been nice if they actually did consider something like this, cuz regnum seriously needs an overhaul with mob diversity, instead of just new skins and scaling of mobs using the same basic mesh or whatever for most creatures and beasts. this isnt exactly a RO fault per say though,..alot of mmos do it, renamed mobs and such, but you never get a feel of really advancing or getting stronger like i said..

u level..and fight..err bigger versions of the same mob u been committing genocide on for about 40k worth of xp.

Would be nice if it existed as a superboss like Evendim, Dean Ra, Thorkul etc, maybe have it on an Island that can be accessed by any realm, on said Isle we all count as allys can heal each other cant be effected by others areas and can chat, have it as a level 50 Quest as well, closure to the story line would be nice. The current 'haha I ran off with the runestones to go be evil in a corner somewhere' thing is kind of rubbish.

Didn't get much attention though... rawr. Anyways yeah I still like this idea, who knows how it (the island or wherever it's located) would work or what it would look like though.

life is: making fantastic art:p, no i gues i have to watch my comic store more often, there are some polish people drawing for belgium comic (altough we don't use 'comic' we use 'strip' because we have adultcomics with more story and harder to understand), torghall for instance is a belgian/polish strip drawed by Grzegorz Rosiński and story by Jean Van Hamme, great pictures, great story, love it

NGD knows about my stuff, no worries. :) I think they enjoy it, but that's how far it can go, my friend. You are right, there are more important things to take care of, that's why I wrote in the first post those are just my visions.

I hope if NGD ever creates new landscapes to explore, they include whole new breeds of monsters, mobs and factions. They'd be hard up to find a better source of new ideas and concept art than yourself.

These mobs are awesome, if NGD does ever decide to add in some new mobs I would hope they ask to use these before spending money on artists to come up with some others.

In the future opening up the islands dotted around the map would be a cool way to expand the map, give certain bonus for holding them or have them as small external parts of each realm (one Island per realm) with their own little docks, fortified village, a few mobs, etc maybe even have a invasions style 'gem' at each Island with capturing all 3 offering a days XP boost (or other bonus) for your realm.
