Many tactics have changed due to the new updates.
LOL - barbarian hiding behind a tree to kill and archer/mage or prevent his death is commical. - It is impossible to kill a barb with a hunter 1vs1 if they use this tactic well.

You mean the non-facing bug when people hug trees?

No... I fought a barbarian near pb and he ran behind the tree and sat down...
He would get up and move to avoid me while letting his skills and mana recharge... Then once he had full life, he would rush me attack but always stay close enough to retreat into the trees. :p Our battle lasted more than 5 mins... and only ended once another ignis hunter came and pinned him down.
I noticed something else with ranged attacks from this battle, the closer we are the faster we shoot... the further away we are the slower we shoot. The server favors battles between players that fight face to face.
The barbarian could escape my attacks by moving behind the tree because it takes so long now at range to actually attack. No bugs were used by him in our battle.

Can't you just run around the tree and shoot the guy?

nope... if I got in range for him to rush me.. he would and deal 1000 damage to me... I only hit him 200 damage, and since I don't use pets and all my skills have uber casting time now, I stand little chance face to face.
He was right next to the tree and closer giving him the ability to stay on one side of the tree out of sight from me before I could let an attack off in his direction. Strafe and sidestep ftw!

In that case I would run around the tree with some distance away from it. You did see him run behind it, right?

Since he was closer to the tree, he always got to the other side faster.... and before my basic shot or skills could be cast..

To move in a circle, objects on the outside must move much faster than objects on the inside. Basic physics.

Of course, the barbarian has to have (a) awfully good reaction times, (b) a connection direct into the citynetwork.se server room.
Sorry, I've tried this around rocks and it just doesn't work for me. The hunter has moved 300ms before I notice, and that's all that matters now.

I've found out a really deadly way to deal with pretty much any class. I can't believe I'm saying this but..
The best way to kill someone is -
Use normal hits and attack spells to lower their health, so they die!

I've found a good way to get a kill.
Camo up to a grinder, wait til they get low on hp then think "oh go on just one more mob and i'll rest" then kill him. :metal:

I use this one on hunters. Many of them have never had it done to them. Once I was fighting a hunter in Alsius near the cemetary (lots of trees). He was running away, so rather than chase, I hid behind the nearest tree. He lost me, he literally ran right past me trying to find me again. funniest thing I ever saw, me hiding from a hunter. I think I died because I was laughing so hard.

I use this all the time on hunters and it works great, but is long and boring, turns into a waiting game. Some hunters try to counteract by casting camo and getting behind you, what i do is run to the next tree with spring, in camo they are slower than me so they wont catch me. it works great, if your lucky to find a hunter thats a lone, something very rare nowadays.

I like to suicide rush with my warlock, best tactic ever. It might be a total failure, but as long as I get to blow my load all over the place I'm happy. :lightsabre:
If a hunter camos, just autorun in the opposite direction. You don't need any speed spells, and doing this will allow you to outrun the hunter, usually pisses them off, and usually makes them uncamo and attack you.

Hang around in grinding areas in own realm, continually tracking, then camoing and murdering hunters who are too scared to take on anyone their own size. And (funnily enough) being manhandled by the groups of 4-7 hunters that appear because they can't take a level 35 grinder solo and i'm still stupid enough to attack them.
Oh and I enjoy confusing Amiens le Rouge :p so he cannot use mobility, SOTW, distracting shot, or ambush which destroys his ability to run like....well like an amiens i guess.

If you're a conjurer, grab level 5 zarkit, mental spells, arcane devotion, mana barrier, and self-heals for 1v1. Mana pool and intelligence passives are a nice bonus if wanted. Use knock-downs + time master and horse for quick getaways if you run into a large group.

the closer we are the faster we shoot? So the shooting action ends when arrow hits the enemy, and depends not on time synch with autoattack? (meaning, it doesn't reactivate after arrow is shot, but when arrow hits enemy?)

Well... my tactics are based on the small Tyr-skirmisches... (we're already getting horny on a 10v10 war)
I play a lvl 35 conjurer. In open field I often stay behind, heal warriors, and pricky or will domain as much opponents as possible...
I make my summon attack easy targets, or support allys when they attack a more dangerous target. I don't use any buffs, auras or barriers, and I'm quiete happy with it. You just have to keep an eye on the enemy, and an eye on your allys in case they need healing.
I think my pricky and will domain are at the moment more usefull to my realm than auras or buffs, but this can change when the wars get bigger.

A good tip to kill a warlock as barbarian, without losing too much hp.
Hide behind a tree and wait for the warlock to approach you.
When he is starting to close in, cast Whirlwind, when he gets around the tree, cast Howl and then switch to spear and chase him until he dies.

As a knight, cast Challenge(first spell of Vanguard) a lot at a person you want to be attacked by(to tank). Sometimes people get offended by it and aggro on you, ignoring targets like conjurers and warlocks casting terror. You can do your job, tanking.

But, a Knight's job is to spam SC 5, right? Right???

I thought it was to serial spam every level one aura they have, because they know I love re-logging to clear stuck effects.
