Hey everyone,

Just started playing a few days ago. I'm part of the Alsius realm & I'm looking forward to helping out the war effort...as well as making the other realms happy when they kill me, lol.

I've got a level 5 Dwarf Warrior - leaning towards Barbarian subclass but open to any suggestions/guidance.

I also have a level 5 Uthghar Mage - leaning towards Warlock subclass but I'm actually pretty torn on which way I want to go.

Looking forward to helping out the Alsius realm & hopefully playing a strong supporting role to a clan out there!

I'm all ears to any advice/personal opinions about my leanings in subclasses and realm choice!

I'm syrtisian, wellcome. Wanna go hunt some reds?

I'ld suggest waiting till you get to lvl 36+ before spending time in wz. I tried wz with my original character at level 28 and loved it but a simple stare from a high level and your smoked-meat.

Use the time till then to observe, compare, test and then test again your setups. Learn to use more than one weapon on the fly. Learn to group, communicate, organize and you'll enjoy your time here. Alsius has many legends from which you can learn from.

Should you need a perfect example of what NOT to do: simply observe how Syrtis works. 60% of newbies here spend most of their time selling/buying, gang-killing leaders, chatting in realm chat just to raise hell, complain about what choices those in wz make and then logoff when invasion occurs.

Yeah, welcome to the game and all that :) I'm sure one of us will be mocking the other's sundered corpse soon enough.
Of course, that's assuming you joined the Horus server, which I don't believe anyone has bothered to find out yet?

One can actually have a laugh and even do some use with a very low level character in the warzone running with regular level warzone players. Human players don't resist as much as mob of the same level does. I fooled around with a lvl 11 barb dwarf on Ra recently and found I could actually poke them a bit with my little spear (~100dmg with gutting(2)!) and score a feint here and there. Most players don't bother to lock on such a low level char when they have harder enemies to worry about, but a well timed feint can turn a fight, and it is humiliating to be knocked down by a noob char.

a well timed feint/ambush is deadly to any player no matter what lvl you are. yesterday i managed to rack up like 35 rp's on my noobie marksman (like lvl25 or something like that). so if your realm needs you, dont hesitate to go out there and fight for the honor of your realm. its really fun and being in alsius means that they definately gona need you in there.

I had another go with a lvl 10 warlock. I didn't bother to skill it up in any particular way, but it seems "fuckemup"-skills is the way to go with noob chars. My favourites soon became Beetle Swarm and Slow.

One can also serve as a decoy. It is funny to see someone wasting mana and cd on an attack that deals 3 times as much dmg as the target's hp. ;)
