I have the same problem than mrlocus. But what I think is that the game didn't downloaded all the files he need : the folder's weight is only 30 mb !!!!
However, the game think that all was downloaded.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but unsuccessly...
The terminal don't say anything when the game shut down.
(sry for my bad english too ^^')

(erf, we can't edit ?)
I tried something : I replaced all my files (except rolauncher for linux, and some else) by the files I got when I installed Regnum Online with wine.
and now I have this error in my terminal :
execvp(./game, Marchombre, e65acb2fd0e719eda9fe38a611fcef04) failed with error 2!
Well, I don't think that what I've done is correct but...
Ps : on Wine, I don't have any mouse, so I can't play with it

30 mb is was too small, mine is at 500 mb!
just delete the whole regnum folder -> rm -rf regnum
then go the the website and download the installer again.
(the native one for linux)
and then do a clean new install

and now I have this error in my terminal :
That will not work !!!
replace every thing except the rolauncher and start that one again
he will dl all what is necessary.
Start it and look at the booting screen or at the error log if it don't start.

I had exactly the same problem - the game went to launch screen, i could set the resolution and all, then updates were downloaded and as soon as i hit the "play" button it just quits, without any error message. Well - or so i thought. I searched the regnum-folders and in the "live" folder i found an error log called error_log.txt, here is the output from the file :
[GameClient][game_client.cpp(616)] Can't find a suitable visual
[RenderizerGL][renderizer_gl_x11.cpp(265)] BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
[RenderizerGL][renderizer_gl_x11.cpp(265)] BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
[RenderizerGL][renderizer_gl_x11.cpp(265)] BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
[Game][game_client.cpp(518)] Engine3D::Renderizer::get_active_renderizer()->finish_graphics_system()
Here are my sys-specs:
Dell inspiron 640m
2GB Ram
Intel dual-core (1,8 GHz)
Intel 945GM (Express Family)
I feel there is something wrong with the Open-GL setting (probably my intel 945GM is causing probs here) , too bad I cant choose an Alternative in the combobox :-( .... Any idea how to fix the problem ?

Oh I almost forgot : Just as th eguy who opened the thread I am using the latest Xubuntu (its an ubuntu derivate)-release "Feisty Fawn" (7.04). Maybe there are some libraries ect missing ? Its a pretty fresh install and I haven't done/messed around much on the system so far.

Oh just noticed, that the xorg-driver-fglrx are only vor Ati-Graphic-Cards, so i installed my intel-graphic-apckage (something with 8xx) bu tno success yet :-(.

Ok thx for your answer Luethien. I have the same video card than you (Dell Inspiron 6000...)
So the problem come from a video card incompatibility... There is 2 driver for intel chipset card. The both don't work... erf
And there is still the problem that my RegnumOnline folder weigh only 30 mo !
(whereas with wine it's about 200-250 mo)

No prob :) . BTW I installed Regnum on my Windows and after a bit of playing well ... lol guess I am not so much into installing it on linux anymore :tonguey: . Doesnt really appeal to me, although its quite nice overall.
As soon as "Wurm Online" (also has a linux client) restarts (5.mai i think) I am gonna try it out. At least there seem to be no probs with installing it on Linux :) .Good luck in finding a solution for the problem though ;)

Yep i finally ended to the same conclusion.... ^^'
The game you're talking about looks not so bad, I must say... a bit empty maybe ? I keep and eye on it, because it could be a good game.
Actually i'm trying with "Granado Espada" but i don't think we have really the right to speak about some other mmorpg there lol
(but I don't know if this game work on linux, I don't think so... Too bad, it's a beautiful game)
