ive heard talks about the Evasion and Hit Chance stats being broken and not worth sinking points into. im constantly reworking my setups and i was just wondering if anyone could clarify weather these stats and the skills affected by them (such as hinder, rapid shot, cat reflexes, dodge, finesse etc etc) are currently functioning.
thanks

half a year ago when i last tested these stats in arena it didnt seem to have any effect. (hit chance, evasion)
I've tested these since on 100 mobs each where I:
1) Config'd max evasion (something like 120 when using dodge) and the result was no different if I had base evasion of 72
2) Config for as much hit chance as possible. In this case, I sometimes hit more when I was not using Eagles Eye.
So - IMO - they are broke

this is the kinda stuff we need to get NGD to change things. we need good, solid, evidence that something is wrong. if we just whine about it because we had bad luck, not much will happen (i do the whining sometimes too).

Hit chance works, haven't tested evasion.

Hinder is good only to be used to slow the enemy down....
Rapid shot is not really needed now that we have global skill cooldown
(in the past it helped you super speed cast)
Cat reflexes will not help you much (yet) <Tested and failed bad>
Dodge is good to keep lvl 1 (sometimes you use it and people wont attack out of fear its relatiation ;) )
Finesse is useless....
I suggest you skill damage skills mainly and use the skills listed above at level 1 if you have them in your skill tree. Do not waste points in a skill tree to obtain these skills!!!

I disagree. My experiments using various levels of challenging roar yield no results in favour of hit chance having an actual effect.

I'm not sure how it works for melee classes, but if you don't mind a few arrows in your ass I can show you some time how it works with archers. There are other factors that affect HC besides the number in the character window.

i have tried using hinder(5) and finesse(5) on a player in the arena. both giving the player a negative 50% hit chance. in theory it could either reduce the hit-chance to 0 (50% + 50% = 100%) or it could reduce it to 25% (50% of the remaining 50%). either way it should reduce your enemies hit change significantly.
results. no evasions at all
therefore hit chance reductions are broken
