Ok I was wondering about this, and how it works.

The spell for conj and lock,

I know at its max level it will soak up 1k of damage.

I am wondering if the damage it is affected by, is dependant on what armor you are wearing, or not. (for example if my armor is very bad against slash, which would put me at a -% for this dmg and he attacks me with a slash weapon or attack, would that make my barrier also take the -% dmg from his attack?

Or is the barrier simply normal (statwise) against all attacks (blunt/slash etc, and ice/light etc.

Just always wondered this. whether it is based on my resistances, or has its own set.

Or am I totally wrong and it works on some other mechanic?

They way I heard it (and I can't prove it, but it sounded reasonable), the calculation takes place as if the barrier wasn't there, resists, armor, etc.

This number would have been subtracted from your health. The energy barrier absorbs this value, up to its limit, and you get hit with the rest, if any.

So if a blow would have ended up doing 300 damage on you if EB wasn't up:
- if EB is at 1000, it soaks up the full 300, EB now has 700 left.
- if EB was only at 200, it soaks up 200 and is now gone. You get hit for 100.

Ok, thats what I was wondering..and though it isn't ideal..I'd have liked the barrier to be neutral, I guess its better than nothing..though a bit unfair lol.

I guess I'd have one more question then, if what is said may be pertinent. If I had force armor on..would that also affect the dmg taken possibly?

Force armor should effect damage taken by barrier if that's what you mean. At least I'm pretty sure that's the case.
