I was a bit infected by all this hype about boss drops. I saw war banner that Alasthor is about to respawn and went there with my lvl 50 marksman.
I used all my damage spells and high basic shoots on the dragon but did not get any experience or gold...and no drop of course :ohill:
Is there 10% damage rule at bosses too?
Another question: Beeing in a party has advantage your hit chance/spell focus is higher on target and you do more damage, right?

Yes,when you're in party, mobs level of challenge is lowered e.g. from impossible to hard.
About 10% dmg,if they haven't changed something since may 2009 the answer is no.
I'm guessing you didn't get anything because of horde of conjurers spamming auras. At least that's how it is done here,in Syrtis.

in Syrtis its a joke to kill our dragon, last time i went to kill it, we had like 15 conj's and only around 5 warriors, then there was a few archers. however the conj's stayed away with the archers whilst the warriors, the damage dealers, was left to gain a nice chunk of necro.

Hmm that's about how it seems to be done in Ignis also, now.

Sadly,this is totally true.
Ranged classes have huge advantage over warriors on boss fights.

Probably Conjurer. Basicly- anything except warriors.
Is it SO hard to fix one bugged animation??? (dragon jump)

My belief from observation is the moment you die; you pretty much start over and if you die multiple times your chance of drops is zero. It stands to reason that if the warriors are dying and being rezzed then the drop has to go to the ranged as they survive longer by sitting in the plyons. Conj get contribution for healing [yeap including themselves], buffing, auras etc and the three auras cover 30+ players so that a lot of contribution that other characters have to complete with by damaging a dragon without dying.
-Conjurers-
I'd also add your conj needs to survive the whole battle which is really hard for a low level conj as you will die the moment the huge damage comes. Mana pylons don't absorb that type of damage consistantly unless your super lucky. I used to get nothing as a high 30s conj. Gradually I started getting xp and loot towards my low40s and mid 40s and finally I got a drop high 40s. I don't need to party as I do not attack the dragon directly. I got xp and loot once in 10 seconds work from casting two auras [I arrived late :P].
-Warriors-
Here's a huge tip. If your warrior character is standing in or under a dragon they need to move away to get healed as some of the conj cannot select your character. Find a clan conj to support your warrior the entire battle. A barb can get a drop if they are always healed and getting a constant supply of mana. Plus the conj doesn't need to worry about the stupid selection bug around large superbosses as they have preselected your character. IMO any barb attacking a dragon needs to have their own personal conj or they will die multiple times. Conj tend to set-up the pylons at range and its screws the warriors as they are never in the aura zone. The conj code is cast pylon next to someone else who has pylon active so its a domino effect. I've seen high level barbs onslaught to run back into the aura zone to get healing and mana.

So true.
Biggest problem is that you can't predict the stomp (bugged animation) and it can one-shot you if your buffs are down.

i (hunter) have thought of a new tactic, use only buffs, retail(5) you can almost constantly use that, and u can (at least for a resonable time) stay at like 3m away from the dragon, unless u are unlucky and get stomp in the 5 secs youre not protected by retail.
btw, conjs dont have biggest chance, its depends how much conjs there are xD
