Just curious since hearing about Duel Wielding being added for Barbarians..

Sadly i personally Sence a Nerf to TFB because of this.

Id also like too know how the weapons will work.

Will they be just 1hand weapons that we choose or will there be weapon packs or something else entirely.

I just hope you don't ruin 2hand weapons in the process of adding Duel Wielding.

Well there are evident problems that might pop up, the most noticeable, that dual wield will allow barbs to have more maximum bonuses (two weps with str, for instance), wich becomes an issue when we roll epic items in. Also, advantage over two handed weps will probably be lower but faster damage and therefore, faster killing unprotected targets, most noticeably, DOORS. Never mind mages dying faster, if doors start falling down faster, fort gameplay may degenerate to what it was before doors had health regeneration.

That is what I predict, now lets see what NDG comes up with ^^

I got another question about the dual wielding.
Will it be possible to wiel two different types of weapons? A hammer and an axe for example? And if so, will it be possible to use both weapon-buffs then?

May be this implementation will only change graphical's animations. No new skills or tree. You just put 2 weapons in the slots and its ok. Then 1 hit will be represented with 1 hit of each weapon.

Don't think we could have 2 different type of weapons. Damages will be the sum of the weapons's damages.

By this way 1 phantom swing will be represented by 2 phantoms swing xD

well what concerns me is Thirst For Blood.

Since it's 5 buffed normal hits i see something happening too it because of the fact that hitting 5 normals with 2 fast weapons isnt exactly hard to do.

So i either see the damage being nerfed & them just making it 40 seconds of normals or 5 normal hits per weapon or something else..

well what concerns me is Thirst For Blood.

well what would LOGICALLY be the right idea is that 1 TFB buff thing would be used each turn (2 hits for dual wield, 1 for 2h). that should just about make the two exactly the same.

but then again, NGD isnt known for implementing things logically are they?

I think that they will be in weapon packs like Klutu said, you will get paired axes or swords or maces (dunno about spears) rather than 2 1h warlord axes (which imo will be massively OP in the hands of a barb) with set dmg and 1 set of bonuses. Thus no need for nerfs and no need for us to worry.

I guess anything is possible.

Maybe main weapon 100% the other 50% damage or something.
Main is always used for spells like SC etc.

Maybe there will be new discipline maybe not, then TFB will not be an issue since they probably just will make it deactivate when remove your 2h weapon.

Since none knows or none that knows will tell is it rather pointless to speculate.

I think NGD will shed some light to this eventually.
But i like to remember DKY saying they will start with dual wield after next update. So it may still be too early.

thats what ive been saying for the past month, but i guess its always fun to hope for something. who knows, maybe NGD will read this and change the way they implement something from shitty to awesome.

Are you all so sure that dual wielding will be for barbarians ?

I see it more suitable for knights. Whatever way it will be implemented, it will make a warrior deal more dmg using 1 handed weapons. This would make knights grind faster than now (now grinding a knight is much too slow) and make knights more usable in war.

Then what would be the point of Knights? They'd just be weak Barbarians with a useless Shield skill tree... Oo

Yes.

Knights aren't meant to do lots of damage. QED.

The discription of the warrior class mentions dual weilding, the 2 Handed Mastery Tree mentions Dual weilding, so yeah, pretty sure.

But we have Ao1! :D =<
