Hunters run with the same animation whether bow is in combat mode or at rest.
One needs to stop moving to detect in which mode the avatar is in. I've noticed that marksman run as expected: bow is held horizontally when not in combat mode. That's how it use to be before the update.
btw, great update, good job NGD. Love the new characters.

You can always put the bow on the skill bar..
Take the bow off..
Put the bow on..
and you will be at rest non combat mode

Yes, but this is not the point, this was broken since 1.6 release, and very annoying.
Until then, running in combat mode or not had different animations now only one is shown.

not an option, thanks, in fact - that suggestion is exactly why i created the thread
The hunter needs to cast skills as he or she goes. Which each skill cast, the same process is repeated. There is a precise delay between the time the bow is in combat mode and the moment one can CTRL to set it at rest. The fact that we can't see that change_in_mode anymore while moving is crucial.
Stopping means losing a very important advantage the hunter has: terrain covered over time. I expect a hunter in a group to keep ahead of a pack or at least in front somewhere scanning. Stopping to check is out of the question.
Skill Bars:
Also, many of us tend to use several bows for specific situations. So using the F1-F4 bars to unload the exact weapon is an iffy venture. I use F4 to change between weapons, including arrows. Therefore, one disciplines oneself not to go hitting F4-1 twice, for example, since it would leave you barehanded in battle. Its become second nature, not an easy habit to break or relearn.
In my case, switching weapon means also switching back to the appropriate bar with the skills relevant to the weapon just loaded. So short bow skills in F1, F3 for long bows, F4 for weapons and F2 for scanning and pet. Not going to change that.
Placing the weapon on same bar as its related skill-set is not in the plans, unless the skill bars were extended (/,*,-,+ and . - but that will never happen).

I was on my hunter, i didn't have any problems with this yesterday night. Walking was still the same and in or out combat mode was easy to see.

one thing to note on this.... imo, and from my observation... this is limited to female archer chars.... my male hunter does not do this... but my female marks char does.... and yes... it is very annoying

Switch your sound to on and then you can hear if you are in combat mode or not:cuac:

Many people play without sound, and if they do use sound many also don't use the music (I usually don't use any sound at all for FPS reasons).
The problem is not marks, hunter, but is infact only female archers who have the problem, male archers be it marks or hunter are fine. I'd love to see this fixed ASAP, next hotfix maybe?
It was fixed on Amun, today. I guess upcoming hotfix will include that fix too ;)
Confirmed: hotfix 1 fixed it.

My dwarf archer (male) still has the running animations switched, when running in combat mode it looks as if i am in non-combat mode and vice versa.
