Nope, you must just have a CS > 50%, cast devotion, cast a .5s spell then press forward button right after the cast. (but must be very well timed)
It's easier using a fort door : get in a fort, cast devotion, press autorun key in direction of the door, get outside and cast Mind Push immediately after.
You will be surfing till you cast another spell.

Without door it is a little more tricky. You need to put in autorun mode, cast some spell, and right after to stop and autorun again. All this in time spell animation is not finished or just finished. It need better timing. Doing it on fort door is peace of cake.

I managed to do it only with 0.5s spell i.e. Mind Push. Scias is a monster he can do it with 1s spell.
