While hunters are built on speed, horses are still faster than they are. Thus horses are still useful to get places.

aside from the passive speed from wild spirit, all the hunters other speed buffs have limited durations which are exceeded by thier cooldowns. a horse is a way more economical way to travel

Comp uses horse to get around (costs ALOT less mana then mob, sotw), most likely story he spotted you whilst on it and decided the no cast duration after dismount would put him at a horrible disadvantage. So didn't get off, that and you where with a Knight too. DW though i'll ask him to get off his horse and give you rps next time i'm sure he'll oblidge

But why wouldn't you have a horse? Wayyy faster than wasting skill points in evasion, and if you see you're about to get hunted down, horse up, and don't give rps.

Actually no - I was running in and out to and from trainer last night trying different configs. I use horse for one thing and one thing only....getting from point-a to point-b faster. I won't use horse to run away.

Aside from that note....after I saw them I jumped off and engaged. They killed me twice but I finally found them and killed em both. That bit of info was left out :P

@Compost: I didn't leave that info out on purpose, it was Great Fun Chasing you Down with Lex that night, man can you Run XD ,But to answer why I don't think hunters don't need horse is, that, 1. they need to scan all the time for Enemy's so why be on horse?. 2. yes its cost mana for Mob and Sotw, however, does not take long to Regen mana if just those two skills are used.

As I stated before Hunter Scans, As in they hunt down there pray, its what hunters are, so tell me how a hunter Scans on a Horse?

I may agree a horse helps do quest faster by getting to the location faster, but Horse's are permanent now, not like the old days 10k pony's. When it was wise to have a horse. Once I leveled up I stopped using 10K horse's and Skilled Sotw and Mob 5 to get around, Why? cause i was in war zone grinding and needed to Scan scan scan,

Also have you ever been shot of a horse, it feels kinda embarrassing, now imagine that has a Hunter, when u can skill Low pro Sotw Mob and escapist to avoid getting killed, slow hunters are easy pray for me with my speed setup, run away on a horse and you desire a laughed at and face-palm :D:

First off I have Five charters and bought 4 premium horse for them so I have supported NGD and also bought Xim and Box's.

A hunter with horse is just freaking funny, no one is saying that you shouldn't buy a horse if you're a hunter, but why do you wanna buy one? On a horse you can't track any enemies around, and it's not worth using it to run away since a hunter already got good spells for that.

Now, I can understand Compost's reason to have a horse, I myself hate to travel long distances by foot on my hunter, sometimes I even forget to cast Mobilily/SoB, but for the reasons that I mentioned above I find it more safer to just use my own foot to move.

What Ore just ment was that it's hilarious to see hunters riding a horse, no haties. >.>

While running your mana regenerates, and by the time the CDs are cooled you got your full mana back.
Some people don't mention that. :/

I use la horse because it's not inconvienient mana wise it's more inconvienient CD wise (180 seconds for lvl 5 sotw) for a hunter to run as fast as a horse they need to cast both mob and sotw which may put them in a sticky situation later on may as well save yourself the bother and................ get a horse

I see nothing wrong about hunters riding on horses if they find it convenient, nor i see any issue with people running away on horses.

/me Can't believe this topic is still alive.

Nothing wrong with horses, anyone who can buy premium uses them. There need to be something done to make it so horses can't be mounted mid battle and used to run away, but if someone on a horse sees you and runs who cares, get them next time.
