View Full Version : Greater healing:new or old?

with the next update, greater healing has been changed. the current spell is a regeneration aura that heals anyone in the radius for the duration.
the new spell on amun is changed to greater regeneration and is no longer an aura. if someone that needs a heal and is not close enough to get greater regen, they are out of luck.
what do you (the community) think is better in combat situations?
personally i like the old greater healing.

The old greater healing.
If the group is spread out a bit. With the old greater healing, everyone walks to the conjurer as they see the animation.
The new spell is a lot harder to use because of the cast time. Everyone already left before you launched it.

I like the old greater healing to. And i have see the new greater healing but i realy DONT like it.

The old, auras were better but at the same time they were bad for the server performance.
My biggest complain is that now I need to use arcane devotion at lvl 5 If I want to cast healing powers with good timing.

I would take the old anyday, new is useless due to cast time.
I think all these area type buffs need to have an instant cast, because even with .5 cast time, because of lag, pos. glitchs, you never get who you want in the buff.

Old one;
It used to be a "hospital" where allies would come to regen and then leave when replenished. Now it's a one-time-use for the group of allies and that just sucks. NGD explained the reason behind the change, so they wont modify it back to what it used to be - what a shame.

New one.
The duration of the old one was just too long. I don't play my conju to cast auras and then "be a hospital".

New one:
1) I can cast it and get out of the zerg which allows me to skill for both GH and Dispels. With the old GH you had to be in the zerg and as such get caught in terror rushes or were in range of enemy marx to attack you.
2) As stated, it is supposed to help lag, I'm all for reducing lag
3) I don't play my conju to cast auras and then "be a hospital".
However in all fairness no one has gotten to try this in a real war environment on a live server, so none of us can really say for sure. This is a better poll for after the balance update has gone live.

I think for wars the new spells for the conjurer *might* add more tactical importance. It will require more thinking when and where to cast.
We have to see how it will be in war.

I am kind of on the fence with this one. I like that it is no longer an aura so knight can start to use their auras. I don't like the fact that I can't cast it as i'm running to the fort door to help keep myself alive as i'm getting hit. I now have to wait until i'm in the thick of things before I can cast it and that is sometimes too late if a barb jumps out with roar.

Not enough options imo. Add "New greater healing/regeneration with different numbers". I like the basicidea but i dislike the long cd and castingtime, give it like 40 cd, 1 sec cast, 250 mana and lower effect.
The new one has a casting time that takes too long. That said, the new one also fits my play-style better. With some improvements I think this is a far superior spell.

I dont know yet. I really dont like the long cooldown, the cost, or the casting time. Im all for more tactical gameplay though. Sometimes it does get boreing useing the same spells, but those goes for in general...What I dont really like is how everyone expects a conjurer to have Mana Communion, Mana Pylon, Greater Healing and Mass Dispell. As of right now you can not do that. After the update though it will become avaliable. But I also like playing the game in new ways, be it damage, or some other kind of unorthodox support setup

I wonder, why not have GH changed into a 5 sec 10 area aura, and have anyone that comes into the aura at any point be given the current buff? That could allow your allies to come to you, and destroy the lag/position glitch problem.

I think the new GH is far more tactic I like it (pfff not that I play my conj anyways :P).

I dislike lag, and confuse too. But a friend can give me DI or dispell me. But no one can dispell the lag O.o. I'll chose... new greater.
