Well, we're running out of IP addresses, you know the 192.168.42.69 dealies. The thing is, we're running out of numbers, but not out of the dots, so we have lots of leftovers from the insides of IP addresses.

Plus, since there are so many fewer dot-matrix printers we're using up fewer dots that way, so we have way too many dots.

That's why Microsoft has a monthly patch cycle ... ICANN has asked them to try to use up more dots ... they're putting out more releases with version numbers like IE 8.0.7600.16385 so we don't become inundotted. In the meantime we all have to ... do our part.
