View Full Version : Hows the Knight nowadays?

I played this game a year ago and everybody felt like the Knight class was pretty underpowered compared to some of the other classes. Are the Knights better than they use to be a year ago? Have they received any skills or buffs that make them better than before? Are they a much better class overall than a year ago?

It's the best class man. I've played it for over a year and half and they drastically recently improved it.
Feel like doing some damage (1.9 k ripost xD) on epic bosses while still being able to cast auras - check
Feel like tanking an entire armies range team with one spell, new defensive stance - check
Feel like protecting all your pals and dispelling that dreaded confuse off ur conjs - check
Feel like being able to block whenever you think you should - check
Feel like looking good doing all that? xD - check

Finally knight have their part of fun in this game... i never enjoy this game so much as the last weeks..
as Ultimate said before.. now you can tank with some efficient (REALLY),
you can protect your mates from be devastated by area effect spells (and skills), you can try to fight as a bad dude if you wish to (i'm not a 1vs1 one :D
but i see some of my class-mates do really well) , you can FINALLY avenge
your infinite death versus the bad-ass-hunters that will not run away like
hell now.. (now they go in hell! :D)

The only drawback is their speed.
But they are versatile, can do support, tank and hit like a barbarian (in AMUN).

Cannot normally do that damage, was for alasthor. Have to skill for offensive stance 5, all the str passives and weapon magnification get onsed and blessed and have dragon disabled . But it was nice seeing that number :D

i know what u mean. every time we do a boss run, i have a special setup (For my barb) and i cant tell you how excited i get when i do stuff like 2.8k normal hits (happened on daen rha a few weeks ago).
best ever ever (for me) was back when ons stacked, i had a conju, 4 barbs (other than me) we did onslaught, OWTH, and conju buffs. 3922 ripost :D
now imagine that (or the 2854 normal on daen) with fulminating.... OMG!! if only i could do that reliably.
back on topic: knights really are effective and powerful if you play them right. if you skill correctly, you can make your knight next to invincible unless you get in a zerg (in which case anyone would be dead). with defensive stance and army of one, you can take barb hits down from 800-1000 to 40ish. thats pretty awesome if you ask me.
Funny enough, I did a setup that really shows how flexible a knight really is.
On a Tenax run I decided to take the knight in. However, much to other knights surprise I skilled no weapon trees at all. Yep, zero weapon skills. Instead I skilled protect ally, onslaught, shield, heroic, stars, disabling 5 and martial reflexes. Of course I had lots of points for my own defensive buffs.
So there I was buffing like crazy and taking little damage from the attacks. Because I had Def support 5 and steadiness 5 I never got knocked. Of course I was whacking away with tiny hits but that was not the purpose of the build.(Had a fast magical sword doing ~160 per hit but really quickly, lots of crits) In the end I walked away with a bundle of money, a ton of XP and every loot Tenax has to offer except the armour drop xD. I even dropped 3 scales. All of this without doing maybe 1500 worth of damage myself. It really was worth it persisting with this class.

FUCK YEAH IGNIS ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway Knight is fun now, grinding isnt the fastest, but the efficiency is unreal, from lvl 44-45 I rested a total of 17 times, pretty awesome.

I was wondering if I should go back to playing RO after a two month break and this thread made me want to play again :wub2:
I admit I was afraid knights were worse than before but having messed with setups in Amun, I can tell the changes allow for a lot more versatility. I haven't had the chance to war yet, I hope when I do I'm not disappointed
