How do the weapon trails work?

recently i put an ice damage gem (+15) in a spear and now it has the blue weapon trail. but yesterday i put an electrical damage gem (+9) in an axe. i am not able to see the electrical weapon trail. is this because the gem i put in the axe was not a great gem or is it a glitch? neither of these weapons were magnanite or boss weapons.

Iirc the trails only work with great gems.

As far as I know, anything above 6 is classified as a great gem, correct me if wrong.

Also, I have this problem as well. My weapon has a +14 damage bonus gem in it and I see the weapon trails. My other weapon has a +7 gem and I do not see the weapon trails.

I thought gems between +6 and +9 are classified as 'Major' and +10 to +15 were classified as 'Great'.

physical damage does not make a trail, only elemental does.

the gem in the axe is only a major gem. i think any type of gem should make a weapon trail.

10-15 elemental gives a trail, i dont think all gems should give a trail, you should have to do some effort to get it.

do you have any idea how much grinding i had to go through to get that +15 ice damage gem and the +9 lightning damage? 1.5 years. thats WAY too much effort just to get a stupid weapon trail.

ever heared of trading? Theres alot of lower lvl players that dont need them(yet) and are willing to trade for reasonable amounts of magns, or lower lvl gear.(reasonable, i paid 250 for a 11 fire gem, thats around thesame, maybe abit lower as the average lvl 50 experienced player asks)

Faster than 1.5Years that maybe Dev's needed some Ximerin to improve, don't you think so? Fun can't allways all time be free.
