Are Goblin Mobs and pets ranged?

Just curious, because they seem to be, was this just added in the update?

For me it seems that all mobs are ranged since they start to attack from 5-10 meters away and they dont use "an uber ranged spear" xD
In real its some kind of position bug imo that havent been fixed yet. Hope it will be soon....

As someone said "doesn't want reality from fantasy games"... This game is One Big Bug(num) if you look from logic part of view (?)
