Do you suffer from high ms???
This is one of the reasons I stopped playing Regnum, I now play another MMORPG I wont say the name but they just released a new expansion.
Browsing the forums trying to increase my latency I stumbled across this fix. (http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info13581-LeatrixLatencyFix.html)
This will work for any MMORPG you play and even FPS (First Person Shooter)!!!!
Ok back to my story, at weekends and evening my ping would be crazy high so much so I could be in a battle and alive one second and dead the next without knowing what had happened. So after DL and Installing this fix my ping is at a stable 110ms awesome.
So that being said you will see me playing a lot more in Regnum :D
Download, Install and enjoy lower pings!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you could listen to a conversation between your computer and the game server, this is what you would hear.
Before Leatrix Latency Fix is installed:
Server: "Ok computer, I just sent a data packet over to you, got it?"
Your computer: ...
Server: "Come on, answer me! I don't have all day! Stop wasting time!"
Your computer: ...
Server: "Ok, forget it, I've waited long enough, sending another one over! Got it?"
Your computer: "Yep, got that one, also got the one you sent before, thanks."
Server: "Well, why didn't you acknowledge the first one when I sent it? I was waiting ages!"
Your computer: "Sorry, I'm just trying to make the network more efficient by bundling the acknowledgements together in pairs. This is how I'm setup by default."
After Leatrix Latency Fix is installed:
Server: "Ok computer, I just sent a data packet over, got it?"
Your computer: "Yep, send the next!"
Server: "That was fast! Ok, here's another, got that?"
Your computer: "Yep, send the next!"
Server: "Wow! What an improvement! Now that's more like it!"
Your computer: "Yep, it's certainly keeping me on my toes, thanks!"
This has potential.

This has potential.
That was actually the only part I understanded, but if this is true very nice.
I downloade and installed it didn't try it yet though, but the installation was like literally 7 secs.

Um, doesn't Linux already do that? xD

It does, and has a more optimized TCP/IP stack in general.
That's why you usually get better ping in Windows games if you play them under Linux with wine.

Haha i have Ubuntu 10.10 on VirtualBox but i have to learn a bit more about it. My Linux teacher will start after the christmas holidays. So i might be a Linux user soon :P
Although im still a Windows fan and most people in Holland work with Windows so i try to stick with it.

LinuxMint is like a shell for Ubuntu, making it as easy as can be *(easier than Standard Ubuntu)--I set up my father's PC with it for him, and trust me, if he can use it without issue, anyone alive can.
Anyway, enough Linux cheerleading, I'll let the linux-vets tout it in their own ways since I'm still very much a Linux noob (but loving it!).

I have my laptop running on Windows now for school means also. For optimal performance in school i will keep Windows since everyone here works with it. I will have a desktop PC soon again so i will have a look at Linux then and maybe start working with it on my desktop pc.
