I've played RO off and on for almost 3 years now I think. I've always had problems with lag, buttons not working right, positional bugs, and of course when its really important to do something (cast a spell, attack, etc.) the game freezes and I loose my moment.

All these updates...fixes...didn't do anything to really help. I've complained and read...updated...re-installed and did just about anything else I could think of to make this game play better.

All that ended two days ago.....

My new tower arrived....

lag is gone.....

postional bugs gone...

hasn't frooze once! (knock on wood!) . .. .

I've actually started to win one on one battles again! woo hoo

and OMG, there are shadows!

mountains gandolf! mountains! I see them waaay in the distance

EVEN IGNIS LOOKS COOL!

RAIN! who would have guessed its been rainning off and on this whole time

and whoa! the paint works! it actually works!! PEOPLE DON'T ACTUALLY LOOK ALL THE SAME!!

+5 TO REGNUM STAFF/TECHS/AND GAME DESIGNERS
I take back all the things I complained about with lag. It turns out its not you...it was my computer.

New Tower: Windows 7, 6GB RAM...AMD HD video card....26" wide HD LCD, 7.0 surround sound!!

P.S. I still turn off your background music and listen to soundtracks of LOTR, Dragonheart, Conan, etc.

Nice for you, too bad not everyone has the moneyz to get some supah advanced machine to be able to play Regnum Online with great performance and also good graphics.

I just wish outdated crap would be able to handle this game better.

Try listening to Two Steps from Hell as background music its epic movie music.

I prefer no background music, just effects around. With good headphones and patient you can hear enemies around. It makes game 'deeper' and headache after few hours...

Did not mean to brag, was only pointing this out because I was truely impressed with the difference. I use my computer for work mostly....so the upgrade was badly needed.

And yes, you're right about the diference, I too get amazed when I play regnum with better graphics on another computer. Too bad I'm most of the time playing on my crappy laptop. :P

Ive never even used the sound or music to this game o.o been playin for over a year and no sound from first sec :horsey:

I used to play Regnum on a laptop with 512 MB RAM and an ATI Radeon 128 graphic card. :D Needless to say I was amazed when I upgraded the RAM of that machine to 2 GB and even more when I bought my current laptop with 4 GB RAM and an nVidia gForce graphic card.

Just wanted to update this a little.

Now my fellow players inform me there are different types of lag. Excuse me what? :dumbofme:

I guess I have expierenced something called "server" lag, especially the past few days. What is gone are the crashes and the turning lag. (when I use to turn, everything would get a bit jumpy)

Also gone is the delay when running into a large battle.

But that server lag I think is gonna kill ya no matter what you have "under the hood".

However, it is not bad enough for me to take that +5 away from the designers.
