Hi all!
I have a lvl 33 hunter. I found that at my level I can get passive speed. Is this really worth it in the warzone and/or grinding? Or should I use the power points on other spells? PleasE voice your opinions

Don't use it. It's useless if you want to grind, and in warzone... well, 5% is not that helpfull.

For grinding, useless.
In WZ, mandatory to survive versus a barb, Mobility isn't enough to keep the distance in most cases.
At your level, put your points elsewhere.

At lvl 45-50 maybe it's a good way to survive arround WZ, not at lvl 33. Use that points in skills to increase damage.

As Annavilya says, passive speed is a must in warzone. For grinding is of no use. Listen to Annavilya she is one of the best hunters.

Passive speed is useless since the nerf too.
I was often hunting with 2 other hunters before and after the balance update. After the changes I was the first of us who dropped speed completely. (passive and mobility)
I never lost them. The passive speed bonus is way too small to spend 5 points on it.
I think it's more efficient versus barbs to have spells that decrease the damage you suffer at high levels. Put the 5 points from mobility and wild spirit to son of the wind and escapist.
You should be aware that it blasts a high amount of mana, though. With his 10 seconds of spring with +25% movement speed he will still get you. Ensnarring arrow might help you but you have to keep in mind that clever barbs change to a spear to have range on feint and that you have to stop for every shoot.
Since the balance update I tried with and without speed. You just waste points with it you can spend a lot better, in my oppinion.

you have a point.... it seems better to buy a horse and not use any speed buffs, since they don't help much. I am a lvl 50 hunter and with my passive mages can catch me with ease....... But stun and mount a horse and you are always going to escape 1vs1. What fun is that?

not every hunter who uses a mount uses it to escape fights. After the speed nerv my hunter got a horse as well, last char to get one. I named it "passive speed" and I use it to get TO battles quick, not to get away from them ;)

Why going for a horse? With all the marks around it's far too risky.
Stun/knock/fist and camo is far more comfortable.
And nobody was talking about escaping. Keeping barbs at distance and escaping are different things.

You have a point saying 5 power points are very expensive for this passive speed, and different setups are possible.
Still, passive speed is far from useless, it just depends on your setup. Mine is a bit weird, since i'm using Wild Spirit(5) and no SOTW. But it is mostly because i'm playing with zerg, to be able to stay at front of the group to track (else a hunter fall behind ...).

That's true.
I don't like playing in zergs. At least not the hunter.
I'd wish we could have the old effect of wild spirit back and it would work like recharged arrows...
At least not every hunter has the same setup now :)

I'm another one that uses passive speed. That little bit of speed allows me to be a bit quicker when maneuvering during a fight without relying on mobility being casted.
If you want to be lame use passive speed and lvl5 para and spam ensnare on anyone you see travelling alone.
30 minutes and you will have your 18 rp.

Nice replies... I have been told that at my low lvl, I should focus more on tricks and scouting. Is this right?

For grinding i would recomend that you have these skills
Evasive tactics (reduces the dmg from mobs more then acrobatics)
Ambush (use while evasive is on CD and you dont have any protective buffs on you)
Ensnare (good dmg)
Sudden strike (lvl1 is enough for grind)
Rapid shot (for when Sudden strike and ambush is on CD)
Pet ( A bear/dog or some type of orc/troll)
I dont have pet but the rest of the skills i mentioned is the ones i use while
grinding (i grind alot). And by combining them i have very little downtime and
chain kill normal mobs. And if you add the pet you will have additional dmg
compared to me so it will be deacent killing speed.

I used to abuse pet armor and trow my cyclops aganist igneos and other fast hitting mobs from wich it took ridiculously low damage. I'd only have to heal it every 3 mobs or so, and in the meantime I could still kill some on my own as long as I had life and mana.
Dunno how efficient that is (kinda noob hunter here) but It was an easy going way at least.

I found goltars good at my lvl bcuz with parabolic shot I could kill them before they reached me. And they are normal mobs. They also have high attack and low defence, so I usually am not worried too much on attack spells. I think goltars are attack mobs too so I got one as a pet. I don't know if this is counted as useful but I actually balance the damage I deal to mobs with my pets so they are just about equal. Most of the time my pet or I lose less than 200 hp because the mob doesn't know where to go and runs back and forth. It's pretty good. Here are two more questions.
1) I just found out my normal attack with no passives on a normal mob is 72 on average without passives! I have an epic bow with an attack that peaks at 90 I think. How can I buff up my hunter? (not with spells ofc)
2) I am seeing a lot of hunters being able to track without crouching down. Is this due to shader model or right timing?
