Hello to everyone.
One of the most heated things in this forum is the unanswered questions. My intention is to change that and establish, at the same time, a more fluent feedback between NGD and you.
In this thread you can post any question you have regarding any aspect to the game.
The thread will work normally from Monday to Thursday. On that day we will select the most important questions and set a poll in which you select which one you want to be responded. The poll will run for the entire weekend and, on Monday, we will answer the one that got more votes.
Since we start late in the week for this idea, all questions will taken from now, until Friday.
Please keep in mind that all posts need to present a question. If it doesn’t, the post will be erased.

Any plans to fix the "you are not facing your target" while he/she is knocked or right in front of you? And having your weapon being put back after using a move even after you draw it. 2 Things that are my biggest annoyances in ro atm:P

Last year I made a thread about the lack of merchants in certain important cities(because they made stash only available from Merchant type NPCs). It got a reply from a developer saying that it would be fixed soon, instead, it never happened and now the thread seems to have vanished(either that or I just can't find it anymore).
So, to have this clarified, merchants are available in level 1 and 5 cities(Stash is not available for characters under level 10) and will not be in level 10 and 30 cities?
It's a pain because the level 10 city is the capital of the realm and the level 30 city is the nearest of the realm gate where usually most players travel by.
Sucks having no merchants there. :/
tl;dr Will there be Merchants available in all Cities and Marketplaces in the War Zone?

You did not specify that I must ask only one question so I took advantage of the loophole. You can take your pick. I suspect this thread will be heavily over subscribed as there are lot of burning questions out there. I hope these questions will not be too tough on the staff.
Oh, one last thing. I like the format you give but will the answer simply be just that? It would be great if for just one day (1/2 day even) the answer thread remains open and the community can ask for clarification on areas of the answer that was vague to them. At that point you can make a sticky in the news and announcements area that houses the question and answer so that players can refer and use as research. Just a thought. Important stuff tends to get lost here a lot.

How is are the stats in (like intelligence, concentration and etc...) affecting the spell focus and spell resistance? Can you give us formulas about that? Also formulas about evasion, block chance, miss chance and formula about how the constitution affects knock down resist.
What percentage is 1500 spell resistance?
How the damage from some weapon with many types of damage on a player is calculated?
What is the drop chance from a normal mob to drop normal item, magical item, epic item, great gem.
Can an unchallenging mob to drop a great gem?
Why Alsius altar guards do way more damage than Ignis (at least on Horus is like that)?
Is there a difference between arrows that are for level 50 and make same as arrows that are level 48 than the cost price?

The most important thing for me is understanding the formulas behind the number's we're given in our character sheet. I like the change to critical hit chance, it's simple to see how your stats, buffs, and passives change it now. Some others are still just a meaningless number, or aren't listed at all and I'd like to know how they work, so my question is...
How do hit chance and evade chance as well as spell focus and spell resistance work together to determine hits, evades, and resists? (formulas?)
I also think understanding how this works would help reduce complaints about resists and evades.

Great idea, great thread !
However, I fear most questions could be answered with "we don't know" and it's rather obvious for us as well (ok not for everyone of course :P), but I guess you'll reject them anyway. (Could cause some displeasure though)
There's just one question that really bothers me:
How radical is your balance course going to be? Will you rather try not to scare off old players or will you do some real fixes?
(I hope it's answerable :P)

Any plans to make friendlist shared between characters on one account?
(cos now we must add friends on every character separately, its very uncomfortable for us and it must waste alot space in your database, toreticaly if evryone add evryone on all 6 characters its: server_players*server_players*6 with shared friendlist^ its only server_players*server_players records in the database)

Since the homepage is the first place a new user see before play the game, you guys from NGD are loosing players. What you see on Regnum homepage is missing outdated information (2009?) making people think this is an unmaintaned beta game project.
BTW, this thread is the confirmation of the lack of info you guys put on the homepage. If you place there a detailed roadmap, "on work right now" fixes/features/balance/etc. many questions here would have no need to be asked. Simple like that.

Are you going to make Regnum even more look and feel like WoW? (If yes, it sucks.)
Can we get the fun back into combat? Atm. combat gets more and more static like chess. Anyone remembers the first year after the beta?
Do we get rid of the new power point system and back to many lvl 1 skills?
Do archers get a slight chance to survive combat against warriors?
Will lvl 35+ mobs finally removed from the inner realms?
Will Horus and Nemon closed and players finally reunited on Ra?
If someone is banned will he see, what caused this decision and asked for his point of view? (Feel the Pain still misses 2 Mill Exp and 50% of his RP after being banned for few days.)
The player interface is nearly unusable. Any changes here to get simply key-bindings in the client?
Item exchange, when will it come?
Boss Monster killing, invasions and fort wars are static, useless and boring. You need no skill to reach those goals. Any chance that those will be a challenge and not some kind of zerging?

Simple answer: Because of different damage types that respond differently to armor points on the target.
When a weapon gives you damage in parenthesis and has two damage types listed, the damage in parenthesis is applied to all different damage types. E.g:
(+20) Piercing damage: 80-100 Ice damage: 25 = Piercing damage: 100-120 Ice damage: 45
You may even add a minor gem with +5 blunt damage or whatever and then receive an additional +25 blunt damage
ITT; People interested in item based gameplay.
I shall add to that, my question is:
"Why does the drop rate appear to not be random?"
In other words, why do the same players continuously drop items from bosses and in general, why hunters for example would not receive this chance?

More specifically, duration of hit+hit == skill+skill != hit+skill (longer delay, should be equal or lower as was the case before imo.).

Is the in-game GUI ever going to be re-worked from scratch, or will we only ever see small improvements (like that addition of the +/- buttons on the trainer a year or so ago) from time to time?

I donīt what kind of response are you expecting. The idea of the Thread is to gather all question until Thursday, this week will be until Friday, and then submit the poll. But dont worry, Im constantly reading this thread. As I explain in the first post, my idea itīs to make more fluent our feedback between NGD and the community.

Personal: I have had a purchase of ximerin from last year's Christmas and it's not here yet, I posted a Ticket about it in customer and there's no response for 2 weeks. Then it's deleted. I posted another three days ago and still no answer. Help?

Agree with Stooge, answering one question takes them probably less than 5 minutes so they could give us more than one answer per week. Anyway:

Weīll see about that in the future.
Once we select and answer of the most selected question, it will be filled in a special thread, called Ask NGD archive. The main goal for that it that work as a consult guide, in which everyone who has some doubts about a particular matter can find and answer there. It will also serve to avoid answering same questions over and over. But, enough with the explanations, I want to read more questions!

1) Will NGD start working on there support system? I mean faster answers? Mah woman has posted a question more then a month ago... and still no answer.
2) When is NGD gonna start with bugfixing instead of extending the game? I think its more important to remove all the bugs instead of adding new features?

Not mad but slightly dissapointed since we know you can do this. :)

Will NGD rework RO user interface in near future ?
We made many suggestions about it, compiled in this thread. (http://www.regnumonline.com.ar/forum/showthread.php?t=64003), NGD never gave any sign of life in the thread.
Frankly, RO need to be refreshed from UI point of view, to be on par with other (good) mmorpgs around.

I would like to be able to get +80hp rings and that +150hp amu from syrtis for my knight.
Remember those quests that were suppose to be available so we could get this...yea I vote for that
Edit: o and don't release them if they are going to be something stupid like only 1 quest per char. You should be able to get at least 3 things (2 rings and an amu) per char

I like the changes to monster models, but I think first and foremost we should have seen major improvements to the UI and the selection system. Skill icons and the entire interface could use an improvement because they look seriously outdated imo.

To bad that I did some test and found out that a weapon with just one damage type(claymore, 290-375 base +20 slash+19 slash+15), did more damage, with thesame buffs, as a claymore, base+20 ice+19 light+15, over a total of 100 hits(didn't count crits, just normals)
It's called type bias, learn to play.
On topic: Will the invasion rewards be re-visited?

-Clan system enhance?
-Clan bank system?
-Party system enhance?
-Balance part 2: another chunk (per year) or final blow?
-When is planned the rest of map rework?
-Arrow's number indicator? Or better, UI upgrade/improvement (atm eats a lot fps imo)?
-Do you plan at least 1 update just bug fixing of minor/medium/annoying old (example: Ethereal arrow and death message) and new ones? Update like Ubuntu's Fix 100 papercuts.
-Bug tracker or improving current bug report system?
-Invasion fix: patching bad parts or complete revamp/rework?

- how to know where we saved, would it possible to keep track of that info? (symbol on map for example)
- would it be possible to get focus on somebody (in party) by clicking in the party tab (too hard when conju has to support a whole group at same place)
- need to lock the spell icons, to avoid them to disappear in the middle of a fight, is it forecast?
- would it be possible to expand the icon bar?
- do u keep track of most used spells, and most used places in the game? have u seen after the update a change in the player's setup? what are the most taken forts of the game?
- could u be more specific about all character values? what is better for lock, to get a spell focus ring + 4, or concentration + 3, intelligence + 3?? could we have the formulas, or a hint to help?
- do u intend to expand the variety of weapon and loots?
- do u intend to expand pve?
- how do u intend to help balance realms: can't u add a quest for players (or whole account) to change realm for a week, with the possibility to do quest in other realms too?
- what about a clearer roadmap?
By the way, brave and tough decision to ask all that. Even if people complain, thanks for trying.

Just for clarification, are we supposed to be asking "questions" that are actually suggestions? I may have misunderstood the purpose of the thread...
My questions are questions (except the last one which I stated as suggestion). All questions are directed to what/did NGD planned anything/how to solve/status regarding each task.

I am totally new to mmorpgs and only have one year playing the wonderful RO, so here are my noob suggestions (maybe stupid...) :
- Stop having to /reset_powers, why couldn't players up/down their skills ?
- Add a merchant in cs (to manipulate stash from here)
- Add trainers in cs (to train from here)
- Add clans stash (each player could have a clan stash, with capacity depending on clan size, or giving clan stash access only to high ranked players)
- Dungeons (add another door inside the fort so that players could resist longer when front door is down)
- Flying mounts
- Lvl 55
- Load/save trainer configurations (for example a conju when training, could have a warju and a support config and only have to switch from one to other when needed)
I hope this helps you NGD to build an even more cool game !

EDIT : How about taking all suggestions and putting them on a poll system so that players could vote for the most wanted features ? NGD could then develop the first (or more :D ) features on a regular basis. Such a system would garanty RO to evolve on the right way !

A level cap increase in RO would be like gunned robbery. Because you have to pay real money or work ingame exceptional hard to get good items. It took my 4 y to get good items for just 1 of my lvl 50 chars.

How do hit chance and evade chance as well as spell focus and spell resistance work together to determine hits, evades, and resists? (formulas?)
And I must agree with KKharzov... most of these questions are pretty useless, and only require a yes or no answer.

The only question asking why, thus perhaps the only one that would receive a concrete answer. Everything else can always get the classic answer "In the future" :fingers:

I think it is a fine question. The drop rate is obviously not random, it could be based upon factors of who does the most damage or gains the most experience. I would be glad to hear NGD finally talk about their game mechanics instead of giving us another answer of what we can expect in the future.
There is a difference between presumed knowledge that you will gain at an unknown time and knowledge that will you gain instantly. I prefer the latter.
Most of the choices on there are things that have been asked for since launch, and I think it's fair to expect many of them in the future anyway. I don't need a confirmation on that. You are entitled to your own opinion however.

What else could it be based on? Who bought the most ximerin within the last month? The product of evasion chance and the time of the day? I'm curious :P
The drop rate obviously is random, and psychology can tell you why it doesn't seem to be. :P
Anyway, back to topic. I agree that most questions are rather vague, but you can answer even the best question with some crap, politicians show you how. It's all about how the answers will look like in the end.

Yo Zombrex i really love what you did for the community this time but just one thing. I'd still love to see an answer to the question i asked about the race change thing (also started a topic about it and somebody else did on the spanish forums) Will we/i ever get an answer to this if it doesn't gets selected? Also since it a premium item people would actually buy wouldn't this be nice to have? (same goes for all questions called in the poll but not getting enough votes) Its not that i would like to post this question every week to try and get an answer. Also what i believe Stooge said wouldn't it be better to just take a little more time maybe 15 minutes together with NGD team to answer these questions.
Loving the the attention you give to the community now though keep the up the good work! you get a good karma from me. :)
Well the jewellery question seems to be pulling away.
Now I was keeping an eye on the Spanish section as theoretically NGD answers 2 questions per week. It should be expected that the Spanish would be translated to English and vise versa and both archived.
Sadly, I see that the questions regarding plans to use RP in the future and if NGD was thinking about making dungeons and epics were leading the pack on the Spanish side. (RP one way ahead)
My hope is that the answer is not just "yes" and actually spells out the plans, problems, setbacks, scope, level of progress etc. Just yes would be unacceptable for any of the questions posted. If the answer can only be a simplistic one then the second place question should be answered as well.

But i'm also curious if NGD has any plans to Bring in a Crafting system like they said they were gonna do on a roadmap a few years back

How does NGD's balance vision look like? Will they only focuss on RvR or also 1v1? Will they try to eliminate random-system or do they still think those are a good way for balance? Will they make buffs more situational and requiring thinking as Ao1, Precise Block, UM and Fulminanting?

I proposed that question in the Spanish forum, but the use of RPs seems more important to the Spanish community.
Zombrex, will the questions and answers from the Spanish and English forum be translated, so that all the community knows all the questions asked and not to repeat questions but in different languages :p That would be great!
